Being the raging Liberal that I am, I was feeling somewhat disappointed that President Obama did not slam Romney into the mat. Then I reailzed that Obama was being Obama. Obama gives cool, thoughtful, measured answers when he is discussiing things. The debate was not a football game or wresting match where the loudest, longest, most forceful talker wiins. I did think Romney looked a bit wild eyed and caffeined up. I am thinking that his eyes looked like that because his coaches tried to teach him not to blink like McCain and smack his lips. Hopefully it wasn't because he was using some sort of amphetamine.
Since I have followed this campaign, it was obvious to me where Romney was doing his flip flop on his presentation. I always find it shocking when he will say something one day and then the next take the opposite view the next and call it his own. I think when people actually look at what Romney said, they will see it was pie in the sky policy.
I was disappointed that Lehrer let the debate get out of hand. I found it interesting that one of the first items of importance for Romney was to fire Lehrer.
My conclusion: When Romney has the opportunity to rehearse his responses, he sounds like he knows what he is doing. When he is actually personally responding or needs to explain the details or you look a little deeper, his words and ideas have the substance of thin air.
