Events happening is not fear mongering - The Sarge - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Everything that has happened is not fear mongering. Everything can be verified. Speaking the truth is not fear mongering.

Obama needs to step down from the race and let someone who is competent run for office.

These are serious issues going on. Many lib posters here don't want to discuss it because it makes Obama look bad, which of course it should since he is responsible for what happened. The worse thing out of it all is he's not telling the truth to the country. I remember the last election when he was running he said he would take responsibility for whatever happens under his watch, yet he's not taking responsibility, even when he is the direct cause of what happened.

I know it doesn't look good for your candidate, but y'all should be demanding better. This is the best you've got??? C'mon folks why don't you want better. There are so many democrats who would do a better job, you can't honestly want to settle for this.

Instead of trying to make fun of the people who are asking the questions that need to be asked, please turn off Chris Matthews and do a bit of critical thinking for yourselves. Maybe you all feel deep down you don't deserve better, and if you are going to vote for him then no, you don't deserve better, but over half the country does deserve better.

The country's only hope for a better future, is to move ahead. We need a strong leader like Romney/Ryan. It's good to see they are ahead in the polls.

I understand your point and still disagree - Fanatical Hypocrite

[ In Reply To ..]
I'm not necessarily saying that somewhere out there in the wide universe isn't someone who could do better than Obama. Probably a hell of a lot of people. I just don't know anyone in a position to run who would be better. So, Obama is the best I've got to vote for.

But it's more than that. I'm not just voting for him because he's the guy on the opposite side from Romney and Ryan, I'm voting for him because I still think he's a good guy.

When you look at Romney and Ryan, you see two good guys, right? Two men you think should be on the ticket? Romney should be president? All the terrible things said about Romney by the liberal biased media are either lies, exaggerations or not that bad? I don't. In Romney, I see a plutocratic zealot, who believes himself to be a good guy, yet betrays his own espoused values and beliefs, and lies with every word he speaks. In Ryan, I see a smirking moron who believes in the egocentric philosophies of a hatemonger. We can all look at the same four men and each of us sees something totally different.

Is it that hard to believe that we see things similarly, but from the opposite side. The conservative biased media says he's running guns and he's a secret Muslim and he hates America. I see those as the lies just as you see our facts as the lies.

Now, I find it a little unnerving that this is happening right before the election. So the investigation will close after I've elected Obama. I wish this had happened earlier so we could get to the bottom of it one way or the other. If Obama really is running guns and killing people to slake his thirst for American blood, you can count me among those who will want him impeached and tried.

But right now, with all the facts we have, I can't render a guilty verdict and it's innocent until proven guilty. I think Fox News, as they always do (and as MSNBC does for Dems), is drumming up a scandal from nothing to win an election for Romney. Anonymous sources, contradictory memos and files (the only kind governments write) and vague theatrical accusations.

Can't you at least see, with your own experience disregarding liberal "facts", how we can disregard conservative "facts"? Whose truth is THE truth?

Your disagreement - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
sounds like so much doublespeak to me. I know from your previous posts you are certainly very intelligent and good with explaining your points, but while eloquence of words may not be my strong suite, I do have common sense. Fox reporters have been working toward breaking this story since the beginning (as should have ALL of the news media IMO). This is not Hannity or O'Reilly. This is real and very dedicated news reporting. If you have been watching or care to look back at their reporting, you will see the events as they unfolded. The logical conclusion most of us would come to is gun-running and probably the attempt to cease doing so. It pretty much explains things, including why there was no intervention while Americans were being murdered. If true (and I did say if), that is a very dangerous game for our administration to be playing, one I would not approve of, and one certainly very disappointing to me as a citizen. I am not a straight-party voter so I do try to look at both sides. Most of you will have to admit, it this were a Republican president in this situation, you would be screaming for answers and accountability. Yet, all we hear from the liberals are inappropriate laughter and jeers and bad-mouthing the Republicans in Congress for trying to get some answers. I don't see Romney/Ryan, as you pointed out, in the same way you do. But what I do see and know is what 4 years with Obama and his administration has been like for me and my family. It has not been good. It has, in fact, been the hardest time of our lives. My hopes are dashed, and I am definitely ready for some change. I have already cast my vote for Romney/Ryan. Nothing I have heard or read about Romney scares me half as much as what I know (not to mention all I don't) about Obama. I will be a very disappointed and disheartened citizen if Obama wins this again, but I will be a lot more disappointed and disheartened if the "truth" about this Benghazi incident does not come out in a better light than what it at this time appears to be.

No one is disregarding liberal facts... - ZvilleMT

because as of yet, there are none. The Obama administration led us to believe for weeks that this was all because of a video that hardly anyone even knew about, much less saw. When that turned out not to be true, they backpedaled, but not to the point where they actually have come out and said what happened. Why does this have to take an investigation? If Obama was there, he needs to come out and say what happened. If Hillary was there, she needs to come out and say what happened. I'm curious if it comes out that all of this is true (gun-running, Obama turning down requests for help, etc) before next Tuesday and Obama stays on the ballot, would you change your vote - not necessarily for Romney, but maybe for one of the third party candidates?

I personally would have picked Rubio - in a heartbeat! :)

accusations of Obama being a hitman and/or a terrorist. Once that sort of thing starts coming out, a poster loses all credibility (and I assume, given the timing and the similar sources, that those links below were product of a single poster).

We're all responsible for what we put out, and if you put out that kind of hyperbolic garbage, then I am going to make light of you. Why? Because there are some things that deserve to be mocked, and if you're dispensing mock-worthy items, then I cannot take you seriously on the real issues (all "yous" are general).

No one deserves to be "mocked" for an opinion whether you (as what, the credibility judge?) find it credible or not. This is a political sounding board for MTs. The desire of someone posting these links is to help us know what is going on out there and make our own decisions about what we read. No matter whether you find the source "credible" or not, I welcome the opportunity to look at the information out there (both what I accept and what I do not) and appreciate anyone's attempt to share something they think is important with me.

There will be no mocking of posters. - Moderator

If you don't like something someone posted, move on. One person cannot be the judge of what is "mock-worthy."

We're all here to discuss the issues - that's fine if you don't agree, but there's no need to make light of anyone's opinions. I know we're getting close to the election and emotions are running high, but let's please all take a step back and remember there are real people behind the monikers.

Thank you,

Sarge, accidentally hit "like," so have to offset. More fearfulness - is a big reason why rights aren't more left.

[ In Reply To ..]
With all their aggressiveness and willing to attack, in packs anyway, and their talk of self reliance, you'd think the far right would be braver than people to their left. But it's the exact opposite. Right wingers are more afraid of more things, more sure there's something to be afraid of, hard wired to find threats in anything they're not accustomed to, just less secure in general.

It would be hard for them to imagine, but most people don't see all these threats everywhere, and when they do see a threat they're able to quantify it. Some, for instance, are so small or unlikely that they don't have to be feared. Others are more real but can be watched and don't require attack-or-hide mode. We're just different.

But the big thing is: It's the minority on the far right that's out of whack and the big mass of people in the middle who have "normal" responses to the info they take in.

I do not call myself AFRAID. Not afraid of things, although I am more a moderate.
RWs aren't afraid all the time, they're MORE afraid - in general of the unfamiliar.
[ In Reply To ..]
Not of physical danger, but of the unknown, things that are not understood, people who are different in some way. Always and perennially suspicious that "they" or "those people" may pose some kind of threat.

The less far that naturally conservative people get out and meet different kinds of people, visit different places, and try new things, the more likely they are to fear them and move farther right in the process. (Liberals, otoh, tend to see a world full of people, not enemies, interesting because they're different.) A wider range of activities, like yours, combats that excessive distrust of what is different so that it doesn't build into a dominating force. We're talking about far right here, after all, not normal conservatives.

In any case, this is a major reason right wingers react so negatively to so much and are overly protective and hostile compared to moderates and liberals. Like it or don't like it, as one chooses. It doesn't change what psychologists have found in many studies.

I do like your post. I work in the most - liberal area.

I deal with liberals everyday. Yes, they are different than myself. However, they get a kick out of what I say and do and think as I a complete REALIST. Our office is noted as one of the best, nicest, caring places they have ever seen and meet their needs. Our Google ratings for our office and Yelp ratings are the highest; perfect score for service.

It is interesting too liberals despise Wal-Mart and after the first debate of Obama, comments were he was too busy and must have been tired that night.
I hope some note that all these nice interactions didn't actually - turn you INTO a liberal. It's not catching. :

One thing I don't understand - grits
[ In Reply To ..]
and I've posted about it here before, is the moderate right's willingness to lump themselves in with the far right. If you jump in defending some ridiculous conspiracy theory floated by an obviously fringe member of your party, then you look like a fringe member of your party.

If those views don't represent you, don't defend them. You don't have to disavow them, but know if you defend them, you're sort of taking them on as your own. Perception is reality in these things.

1. You support revisionist history. When I was in a high school history class, I’ll never forget one thing our teacher taught us: what you read in history books isn’t always accurate. The example she used was history books in the Soviet Union, now known as Russia. She informed us, to my shock and horror, that the Soviets pretty much included what they liked in the history books and left out everything else. As a result, she said, there were generations of Russian students who were m ...
