The first lady visited the boy at a pediatric hospital in Rome on May 24, after she and her husband, President Donald Trump met with Pope Francis at the Vatican, reports CNN. "Upon landing in Belgium, I learned a young boy and his family who had been waiting for a heart transplant was informed that the hospital has found a donor," the first lady said in a statement. "I read a book and held hands with this special little one just a few hours ago, and now my own heart is filled with joy over this news." She later tweeted: "A little boy who I visited today & had been waiting for a heart transplant will be receiving one! #Blessings #Faith." "The hospital was struck by the timing of it all," said East Wing Communications Director Stephanie Grisham to CNN. According to Grisham, Mrs. Trump personally wrote a letter to Pope Francis requesting a visit to Bambino Gesu, which is the largest pediatric hospital and research center in Europe. Known as the "hospital of the Pope," it is "based on the moral and ethical principles of the Catholic faith," according to the official website. "Our hospital was established in 1869 through an act of love by a family that was aware of the needs of less fortunate children -- the Salviati family," the site continues. "The project, which started as a room with four beds, has, over the years and thanks to the efforts of thousands of staff members, reached the point where today our hospital which is owned by the Holy See, is a work dear to the heart of the Holy Father."(continued);
