Representative Giffords' Tea Party opponent, Jesse Kelly, hosted an M16 shooting campaign event. His official website posted a link from a local news article that carried the headline "Kelly places the cross-hairs squarely on Representative Giffords." That link was taken down today.

Sarah Palin also targeted a bunch of districts for Tea Party elections, and her facebook page had cross-hairs over Giffords' district. "Don't retreat, instead reload" Palin said.

What it tells me, after seeing blogs blaming the act of a crazy person on political parties....I hope we can stop personifying parties and making the political discourse so personal. We see it on this board daily. We all have strong opinions, but let's stop with the blanket condemning of an entire party for ANYTHING. I have been guilty of that in the past, and I am not going to indulge in that in the future.
