Nice going, Tea Party! - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Representative Giffords' Tea Party opponent, Jesse Kelly, hosted an M16 shooting campaign event. His official website posted a link from a local news article that carried the headline "Kelly places the cross-hairs squarely on Representative Giffords." That link was taken down today.

Sarah Palin also targeted a bunch of districts for Tea Party elections, and her facebook page had cross-hairs over Giffords' district. "Don't retreat, instead reload" Palin said.

This is inflammatory and ridiculous. You should be... - ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!

[ In Reply To ..]
it is crap like this that feeds the looney tunes who commit these crimes. The shooter's favorite book appears to have been the communist manifesto which is about as far from the tea party as you can get. The man is nuts and you are an idiot for posting something like this.

SHAME ON YOU.

What I posted are facts...shame on you for the personal insults. - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
You might want to read the moderator's note at the top of the page. Personal insults are against the policies of this forum and grounds for being banned.
If you feel comfortable with your post... - there is nothing more I can say to you.
[ In Reply To ..]
you tried to use a horrible incident to make a political statement and I feel that it is shameful to do so. If they want to ban me for that, that is certainly their prerogative.

Agree. Person accusing TEA Party SHOULD be ashamed. - Only makes themself look pathetic.nm

Apparently, he likes a variety of literature.
"One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" - quite fitting. nm

Gifford's Father - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Congresswoman Gifford's father believes that the Tea Party was out to get her:

Her father Spencer Giffords, 75, wept when asked if his 40-year-old daughter had any enemies.

"Yeah," he told The New York Post. "The whole tea party."

I rest my case! - nm

[ In Reply To ..]
:(
The shooter was a liberal, not a tea-partier. - I don't blame all liberals.
[ In Reply To ..]
Now you want to play on a grieving father to rest your case. There is absolutely NOTHING to indicate that the shooter had ANYTHING to do with the tea party. Yet you come and post this irresponsible nonsense.
Please provide one iota of proof that the shooter was a liberal. - nm
[ In Reply To ..]

That is what his classmates called him. - You provide one iota of proof
[ In Reply To ..]
that he was a tea partier. I have at least ONE iota. You have zip. :p
Why would a liberal shoot a Democratic congresswoman? - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Your statement makes no sense!
Why would a liberal call a democratic President a wussy? - Not all liberals are thrilled
[ In Reply To ..]
with the Democratic party right now. And if you will check, Cngresswoman Giffords is a moderate blue dog Democrat. They got dealt a LOT of grief for siding with the Republicans on the tax thing, from the left. They got called a lot of not so nice names. There are wingnuts on both sides, and a lot of the left think the blue dogs are sellouts.

THAT is why a liberal might very well shoot a blue dog Democrat.

Research before you jump on the bandwagon.

Linking that is reckless and irresponsible. - Shame, Shame, Shame!.

[ In Reply To ..]
Time to start blaming the criminals, murderers, terrorists, and not someone else! What you are attempting here is purely disgusting and further divides the nation.
You must be joking! - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
This is the victim's own father speaking. What is reckless and irresponsible is defending the Tea Party rhetoric that conceivably is responsible for inciting this horrific incident.

The shame belongs solely to you and your cohorts!

You are the one who should be ashamed of... - yourself. The shooter is left wing.
[ In Reply To ..]
Everything you know about him from his own postings and his own website, etc., prove that. There is nothing in any of that that suggests tea party, quite the opposite in fact. Show me one thing, ONE, about the shooter or anything we know about him that suggests the tea party had anything to do with what he did. Using this woman's tragedy to further your own political ideas. I am going to stop saying shame on you...you obviously are not capable.
Talk about jumping to conclusions - please look in the mirror.
[ In Reply To ..]
He sounds like a ginned up Fox watcher to me.
Oh, yes, and there is lots of proof of that, right? - His classmates called...
[ In Reply To ..]
him left leaning and quite liberal. None of them or anyone else has said that he was a tea party member or a fan of Sarah Palin.

The man is NUTS. He ALONE pulled the trigger. The entire tea party, Republicans, conservatives, yada yada are not responsible any more than just because he was left leaning or liberal means the left, the Democratic party, or liberals are responsible for what was done.

HE is responsible for what was done. PERIOD.
Again, why would a left winger shoot a Democratic congresswoman. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
It is unfathomable how you Tea Party supporters throw around ignorant statements and expect intelligent people to believe them.
You don't know me or WHO I support.... - which is your first ignorant statement.
[ In Reply To ..]
If you would do even a little research before you start on your hate speech rant, you might KNOW why a left winger might shoot a Democratic congresswoman. Congresswoman Giffords is a moderate blue dog Democrat....the left wingers gave them a very hard time over their perceived "selling out" and voting with Republicans on the tax bill. It got quite nasty at times. They called their Democratic PRESIDENT a wimp and a wussy. They were clearly not pleased.

So, a left wing nutjob could very well have shot a blue dog Democrat.

If you had done any kind of research on the shooter, read his rantings....he hated the government. I suspect she was the embodiment of the government to him. What about the 9-year-old girl? WHat about the other 6 dead? The 18 total shot?

It is unfathomable to me how you left wingers engage in hate speech (blaming an entire class of people based on what one did, personification of hate speech) and then condemn the other side for what you perceive to be hate speech....and expect intelligent people to give you an ounce of credibility.

If I thought you had the ability to feel shame, I would say you should be ashamed of yourself. However, I feel I would be dropping my bucket down a very DRY well.

I do not know about the rest of you... - but this news is sobering.

[ In Reply To ..]
What it tells me, after seeing blogs blaming the act of a crazy person on political parties....I hope we can stop personifying parties and making the political discourse so personal. We see it on this board daily. We all have strong opinions, but let's stop with the blanket condemning of an entire party for ANYTHING. I have been guilty of that in the past, and I am not going to indulge in that in the future. It is silly and it feeds those crazy minds out there to strike out at someone because of their political ideas.

So, I am hoping all of you will join me in not engaging in that kind of rhetoric going forward, and just try to have discussions without personalizing them. We are all Americans...and if we want true cooperation it has to start somewhere...and this is as good a place as any. Let's introduce respectful discourse and stop feeding the crazies who come here on a daily basis to rabble rouse and give wingnuts like the man who shot Rep Giffords fodder for their crazy minds.

Thanks for listening.

I am not blaming the tea party, until we know more - but Palin, Angle, Beck, Coulter are the inflamers=

[ In Reply To ..]
"Reload" "Second Amendment Remedies" I hope you all were condemning those remarks as well.

what if some nutjob reads what you said and shoots Palin? Does that make YOU responsible? Good lord, what a herd mentality seems to be taking over this board.
Rifle cross-hairs over Giffords' district with her name listed. - nm
[ In Reply To ..]
Your turn.
There is nothing that LINKS the shooter to that... - NOTHING.
[ In Reply To ..]
Why would you want to assume (and you know what that makes you) with absolutely no evidence that Sarah Palin or the tea party stuff had anything to do with that? And why would you want to blame an entire party for the acts of one individual? Do you not realize that is the personification of hate speech? You are putting a verbal target on Palin and the tea party. Can I hold you responsible if a Republican, Sarah Palin or a tea partier is shot?

You have no moral high ground to stand on. You are no better than those you accuse.

By the way, I am an Independent and have been for years. And crap like this is what continues to move me further and further from the left. And it is what will make 2012 even worse for you and your party....thinking that tripe like this will make you more attractive to independents by making baseless accusations against the other side with absolutely no proof.

You totally missed the meaning of the midterms....people are SICK of the blame game, and this is the absolute WORST case of that I have ever seen.

Nauseating.
What do you think "reload" means? - nm
[ In Reply To ..]
It doesn't mean shoot someone. Give me a break. - When I see a liberal article...
[ In Reply To ..]
talking about putting a particular district or person "in the crosshairs" I do not think that is liberal hate speech or encouraging those people to be shot and I would be the LAST to suggest that.

Please stop the hate speech. It accomplishes nothing except further dividing the country.

Why not take the words of the mother of the 9-year-old who was killed? She asked that people learn from this, and try to identify these nutjobs before they blow? If the woman who lost a child in this tragedy can put that forth, why can't we? Why try to incite hatred against an entire group of people when there is absolutely not one bit of evidence any of them had anything to do with this?

Why would you even WANT to do such a thing??
Here is Palin's cross-hairs map. - sm

There is no excuse for this, either.... - suppose some wingnut sees

[ In Reply To ..]
There are rifle cross-hairs on Palin's map and a list 20 politicians, each represented by a rifle cross-hair, including Congresswoman Giffords. The targets are on the Democrat map. You seem to be a little confused.
Cross-hair, target...tomato, tomatoe. - if you think a nut could
[ In Reply To ..]
be motivated to kill by crosshairs and not by a target you are delusional. Much like those who would be motivated by either.

The bottom line is...the person who shot these people is the guilty one, him alone, not because he was a liberal or a tea partier or a purple people eater. It was the act of a deranged man.

All this attempt to focus anger and emotion on another person or entire party/parties is exactly what HATE SPEECH is, and it really needs to stop. We should be uniting against the nuts instead of trying to further divide our country by using a tragedy for political purposes. Doing so should be repugnant to all of us.

And I would be saying the SAME thing if a Repoublican had been shot and conservatives were condeming the entire left for it. THis is not a dem/repub/tea party/WHATEVER thing. it is a deranged individual thing.

Apples to oranges. - SM
[ In Reply To ..]
Do you see a list of names under the targets, including the name of a Congresswoman who was shot in the head at point-blank range at a political function?

By the way, why has Sarah Palin removed her infamous cross-hairs map now?
I repeat..if you have ANY proof that THIS shooter - has ANY ties to Palin OR
[ In Reply To ..]
OR the tea party, post them. Until then you are a hate monger of the worst sort...blaming another person or entire party for the actions of one deranged individual.

You are the worst of the worst because you KNOW no such proof exists, yet you persist in using this tragedy to promote your own ideology by pointing fingers at another.

And seemingly very proud of doing so. That is repugnant.

You are a symptom of the disease, not a cure for it. You should be a cure.

You have NO proof this shooter acted based... - on this. And yet you
[ In Reply To ..]
persist in engaging in hate speech of the very worst kind...blanket condemnation with absolutely no proof. You KNOW that, yet you persist.

That makes you the worst of the worst as far as hate mongering. You are no better than Palin, in fact you are worse. I certainly don't think Palin intended literal harm to anyone...I wish I could say the same about you.

Would you be among those cheering if your little post here caused someone to shoot her? Oh wait...I know. It would be all HER fault.

Repugnant!!
You sound like a parrot. - Polly want a cracker?
[ In Reply To ..]
You repeat the same buzz words in every one of your posts. Do you have anything new to add to the discussion?
Go ahead and deflect. You have posted no proof - to substantiate your
[ In Reply To ..]
hate speech. Again...you are the worst of the hate mongering worst...you know there is no connection, yet you want to use this horrible tragedy to promote your own ideology by trying to implicate a whole group of people for what one lunatic did.

Perhaps it was a left wing nutjob who wanted the tea party to be blamed and took her out for that reason. That scenario makes as much sense as this hate speech you are spreading.

Again...it is ODIOUS that you would persist in this hate speech when you know better. That makes you worst of the worst and if making silly high school posts like this trying to focus attention off you it is not working.

I know what you are, and worse than that...YOU know what YOU are. 'Nuff said. You have done yourself and your cause more harm today than I could do in a lifetime.

Congrats!
Same buzz words, yet again! - Polly want a cracker?

Then google liberals and crosshairs and see how many times items have been placed in the "liberals' crosshairs."

It is nothing but an expression that has been used for years. Irresponsible rhetoric is posts like these that seek to further alienate Americans from one another on the basis of political beliefs...again, personifies irresponsible rhetoric.

Please stop trying to divide the country. You are not any better than Palin.
Show me some pictures of gun cross-hairs posted by liberals. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I showed you Palin's cross-hairs map, now it is your turn to put up or shut up.
What I will post is the description of the gunman... - in tweets by people who knew him.
[ In Reply To ..]
"I haven't seen him since '07. He was left wing." "As i knew him he was left wing, quite liberal and oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy."

He was into the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf.

His act had NOTHING to do with Palin's crosshairs or the tea party. Since he was left wing and quite liberal, would you like for me to blame YOU now?

Can you please stop this ridiculous witch hunt now? Liberals are not responsible for one one crazy person did, and certainly Palin is not either.

PLEASE stop.
Oh please... - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I showed you an actual map published by Sarah Palin and you come back with a tweet from a little girl named Caitie Parker, who claims to have gone to school with the shooter. Can't you come up with anything more credible than that?

You can continue to beg for me to stop posting facts that you don't like, but you will be wasting your time.

What I was hoping was some basic human - kindness from you.
[ In Reply To ..]
Obviously, as I stated above, you are incapable. You are more to be pitied than censured. At first I was angered by your use of a woman's tragedy to further your own political stand; now I just feel sorry for you. I hope you are never used so callously by anyone in your own life.

What a sad, sad individual you must be.
What you are doing is posting innuendo... - suggesting the tea party
[ In Reply To ..]
or Sarah Palin are responsible for this shooting. There is absolutely NO FACT or ANY evidence to suggest that is the case. You have absolutely NO moral high ground to stand on. YOu are the most pathetic of individuals...using someone else's tragedy for political potshots at a political enemy.

I repeat...SHAME ON YOU.
Here ya go... - see inside.

GO here and scroll down and you will see that the Democratic party used the target map in 2004. Now how about we both shut up?

This is a crazy person who acted alone.... - and trying to politicize this...

[ In Reply To ..]
is nuts. There are wingnuts on both sides, but blaming an entire party for the act of one is ridiculous. Even IF this person was a tea party member (with Mein Kampf and the Communist Manifesto as among his reading materials argues AGAINST that notion), that does make the tea party guilty of ANYTHING. That is why this kind of post is destructive. "I am not blaming the tea party yet..." is inflammatory. As a party they should not be blamed, period.

If John Hinckley was a Democrat, does that make the democratic party responsible for the attack on Ronald Reagan?

Please, let's STOP THIS before it starts.
