Arizona gun instructor shot in head

Who thought this was a good idea?

That poor little girl :( - Just another mom.

That was not her fault. She was put into a situation by people who had their own agenda and were not interested in her best interests at all. They probably wanted to take a video of their "little girl" being all "bada@@* so they could brag to their friends and family about it on social media.

I cannot imagine what that young lady is going through, and will continue to go through for the rest of her life. All because of someone else's wants. Kids want to do stuff all the time. It's our responsibility to chime and say, "No way, not on my watch."

Unfortunately this is all part of the learning - realization process

[ In Reply To ..]
that guns kill people! All the time, all day long. People without guns do not shoot people. Children do not shoot other children or adults unless they have guns.

You get the idea. I think this might be a realization with the advent of the internet/social media. Prior to the past 3-4 years for some, 5-7 years for others, we just didn't hear of these unfortunate mishaps" and accidents" that happened. Now, we hear about lots of them and people just don't want to believe it could happen to them.

and my strange humor -- anybody else see that sign Last Stop, the name of the truck stop/shooting range? Pretty aptly named, I'd say.

It would be funny if people didn't actually think this was normal, which in a lot of this state, they are mixing booze with guns and making other such similar bad decisions with alarming frequency of late.

While I believe in gun owner rights, I cannot believe anyone would have thought this was acceptable! I feel bad for that little girl, to be scarred like this. Yes, it is our right to bear arms but it is a necessity to do so responsibly and I think the gun laws proposed need to move forward. Honestly, what civilian needs an semiauto?

I just said, I hope her parents have nightmares - for the rest of their lives

[ In Reply To ..]
A 9 year old, 9. I am flabbergasted by this. As an adult if you want to go practice, fine, to have your 9 year old out there no words.

I'm sure the parents are big rah-rah gun - afficionados, but you have to wonder -

[ In Reply To ..]
where their brains are at, putting an automatic weapon like an OUZI in the hands of a 9-year-old girl.

Even without the tragedy that unfolded with the death of her instructor, just the act of taking a little girl to a gun range to fire a military-grade weapon is INSANE, and that alone should attract a TON of negative press towards the whole gun-totin' bunch of NRA members.

They're always talking about how "responsible" and "well-trained" they are with their weapons. As if. Putting that thing in the hands of a child, even with an instructor (and look how well THAT turned out!) is so absurd, I can't even wrap my mind around it.

A little girl should be playing jump-rope and soccer with her friends. NOT learning to shoot guns.

What about the instructor? - He should have known better

[ In Reply To ..]
How could he have expected the girl to handle it? Tis America you know. Parents will probably sue the gun range owner for the child's emotional duress for the child having killed the gun store owner, i.e. she should not have been allowed to do this by the establishment.

Don't get me wrong. I would rather there weren't a gun, one, anywhere, but I'm not arguing the gun issue here. The parents might have been heavily encouraged to let "little-bit" handle the big wonderful gun, sure she can do it, and pow, this happens.

fatal error - sm

Not so long ago, an instructor allowed a small boy to handle an Uzi, and the child shot and killed himself.

What a pity that the NRA missed that important opportunity to issue an All Points Bulletin regarding the regulation and conduct of gun organizations and instructors.

Anyone who swims knows to respect the power of the ocean and never turn your back on a wave.

It's a shame that the instructor forgot to respect the power of the gun. The only fortunate thing here (if it can be called that) is that the instructor - and not the child - was killed.

The audio message in Spanish is a bit garbled, but the text is clear. It's offering $1 million for Sheriff Joe Arpai ...

10 Reasons Not To Get The Flu ShotOct 27, 2010
The verdict is out on flu shots. Many medical experts now agree it is more important to protect yourself and your family from the flu vaccine than the flu itself. Let’s take a look at the reasons behind this verdict: 1.) There is a total lack of real evidence that young children even benefit from flu shots.  A systematic review of 51 studies involving 260,000 children age 6 to 23 months found no evidence that the flu vaccine is any more effective than a placebo. Also the shots are on ...
