What's the best energy shot?

I'm tired of this work and therefore it takes a lot to get me going. What is the best energy shot you've found? Monster hasn't worked that well for me and I like the shots and no drinks.

For me, depends on what I\'m doing lol. If I need a short duration pick-me-up (few hours), I like the Red Bull Sugar-free - smooth going up and down - no crash and I go right to sleep when I need to. For something either strenuous or if I am running on pretty much no sleep, I like the 5 or 7 Hour Energy shots.

Monster, to me, doesn\'t do much except make my stomach hurt lol. Hope this helps!

I suggest staying away from those types of drinks completely! Try to take a gym break or take a walk around the block in the fresh air.

As a nutritionist in training, energy drinks are harmful to your body and can actually make you crash harder than a double expresso! They have many stimulants, albiet natural, but stimulants nonetheless.

Wean yourself off of refined sugars and caffeines and try the gym break or exercise break. Drink plenty of water and give your body the rest it needs.

This job is tough on us! Pills and drinks aren't going to give you any long term benefit. Take a natural route and take breaks! Don't eat or snack at your work station either! Put yourself in the "this is a real job" frame of mind, work consistent hours, take breaks, start and end work just like if you were in an office.

I hope you find something that works other than those "energy drinks" though. Take care of your health.

I took one of those 5 hour energy shots once and wound up in the ER because I was shaking so badly and was so nauseated and my heart was pounding so hard I though I was going to DIE!

I do not recommend energy drinks. A vitamin B12 a day and a glass of cold milk works for me! Eat regular meals so you have balanced metabolism also.

I totally agree with Mimi! Those drinks are DANGEROUS!

For me, several short breaks. I usually go stretch out on the floor and do a few stretching exercises, pet my cat and dog who come running in to see what I am doing. My cat will actually lay next to me on his back stretched out and stare at me while I am stretching. LOL Agree to stay away from those energy drinks. The only people those help are the manufacturers who are making money off them. Bad, Bad, Bad for you. Exercise, good, good good for you.

I tend to crash on those. Taking extra B vitamins along with my multivitamin has helped a lot with my energy and also focus and concentration. I also changed my diet and stay away from gluten and dairy. You would be amazed at how sluggish some foods can make you feel! Good luck!

A couple of Sudafed (the kind with pseudoephedrine) - in it works for me. Not healthy, tho. n/m

I now mainlyonly take them (along with Excedrin) for sinus headaches. I used to take them pretty regularly, and found that I had no appetite (it's also an appetite-suppressant), lost weight, and although I was alert and focused, my temper also developed a hair-trigger.
Blood pressure went up, too.

Still, once in a while, and in moderation (half a dose works for me), I can still rely on it to help me pull an all-nighter, if needed.
