Primary mission Not Accomplished for GOP.

Posted: Nov 7, 2012

Wow....instead of working together with the President of the United States on improving our country, doing the peoples' work, and trying to be fair to all Americans, the GOP members of Congress chose making Obama a one-term president as their #1 goal.  All those hours working on obstruction, all those missed opportunities to do good things for this country, all that money down the drain.  I would grade that a "Major Fail" of their #1 goal.

Don't forget Benghazi. We can always go with - impeachment. Either way he has to go. (SM)

BEGONE SPOT! BEGONE!

Oh, yeah....great thought. - Cassie

Now to just turn their resources toward expending all that time, energy, and money to a new #1 goal...."impeachment." Good luck with that. Too many of us remember how much good impeachment did with Bill Clinton.

The American people know about Benghazi and still voted for Obama yesterday. I doubt that people forgot about it since it's very recent news.

And what does that tell you - Pres lied, no one cares. - I care

[ In Reply To ..]
does anyone else?

Beg to differ. Three -quarters of the people in this nation did NOT know about the Benghazi - backwards typist

problem. All they knew about were the election battle stories told on most of MSM and liberal stations (and those stations DIDN'T INCLUDE BENGHAZI); i.e., diverting attention from Libya.

Some did know and didn't care. Others just put is right out of their mind because it was more important to re-elect Obama because they didn't want that Mormon rich guy in charge who might really fix some things that are wrong with this government.

So, I really do believe those people just didn't care.

I agree. O won because so many voting against Romney - just sayin

As scandously verbal as they were, it did no good. People see through this. Many votes for Obama were simply votes against Romney. Can't say that I blame them. His past preceded him big time! He is a very intelligent businessman, but should not be running our country for many reasons that we know about, and probably many that we do not know about because he kept flip-flopping, and never would give very many specifics as to his plans to "fix this country." It was like it was a secret that would be discovered only if he was elected. People are not stupid. They were right to be afraid about his healthcare plans, his tax plans, his spending cuts, his military plans, his plan to increase the eligible age for Medicare and SS, decreased tax deductions for the middle class, women's rights, social programs, tax breaks for the rich, and so on. We know what we have with Obama. Romney's plans did not add up.

The republicans absolutely have to come up with suitable candidates, which they have not managed to do. Thus, they have essentially obstructed any progress in this country and have held productive legislation hostage. I am quite sure this will continue and believe me, the middle class are tired of it and it showed at the polls.

I am not happy with Obama's slow progress, but I simply had to vote against Romney. Wish there had been another choice.

You've got that right. I found it very telling that the two states who arguably know Romney best, Massachusetts and Michigan, both voted for Obama.

Obama - whose past has been reported so well. - Y'all are making me laugh today.

So U think U know what U got with Obama - And U like it

Hope U feel as hopeful as the days pass on.

Yeah, I definitely DO know what I got - with Obama, and...(S/M)

....I DO like it, and I'm very hopeful! I feel much more secure knowing that the potential for a far right-wing Supreme Court appointment won't happen for at least the next four years.

I get it; you're UNhappy about that. But that's how it works in America--some people think one way; some people think another way, and we get to voice our opinions at the polls. I thought patriotism and belief in the American system were how most flag-lapel-wearing folks felt, too. (no??)

Really Great Things Our Country Has AccomplishedApr 19, 2011
We really can do better. I know we can because we have. We just need to remind ourselves and our political leaders that there are solutions to problems, if we focus on the problems and not the politics. When I hear that it is impossible for us to fund Medicare or continue giving milk to children who would otherwise go hungry, I wonder what happened to the old America. What happened to the America that used to be able to accomplish things beyond our expectations. Here are some of the ones I woul ...

Anyone A Primary Caregiver For AApr 22, 2015
Just needing to vent and network with people who are taking care of an elderly parent. This is going on my second year, and while I have 4 other siblings, I am the only one taking care of her. She had several strokes and is bedridden for the most part. She has recovered somewhat from the stroke but still not walking, but the dementia comes and goes. Sometimes she does not know who I am and calls me one of her sisters, and when I try to correct her, she would say "well that's what the o ...

The advice and comments I have received from all of you are priceless. I think I will start finding ways to decrease the 10,000 and work on trying to get her in a nursing home. The advice on how to talk to a dementia person, OMG thanks so much. I always try to correct her and try to get her to understand and sometimes I think it is making her not like me. I will from now on agree with what ever she says, in order to have peace in the home. Once again, thank all of you. I feel a whole lot be ...

Two GOP Pols Risk Execution By Primary In A Fleeting Jul 07, 2013
when they admitted on page 2 of the linked NYT article it wasn't likely the IRS "targeting" of conservative groups was politically motivated.  Senator Roy Blunt R-MO, up for re-election in 2016, and Rep Charles Boustany R-LA were wise to wait until an extended holiday slow-news cycle to make the admission.  That way, it might get drowned out by all the celebratory fireworks and gunshots, both intentional and accidental, that produced fatalities and injuries, some of whom were ...

GOP Senators Fail To Head Off Primary Challenges Aug 31, 2013
From the NY Times   WASHINGTON — For the past two years, Republican senators facing re-election have very deliberately spent millions of dollars, hired multiple consultants and cast scores of conservative votes with one goal in mind: avoiding the embarrassing primary conflagrations that befell their party in 2010 and 2012 and cost Republicans a chance at taking back the Senate. Article On Buying Primary Care Doctors Jul 26, 2015
Here's an article about profiteers trying to buy doctor groups to "get control of their patient base and leverage those patients." I believe the model was transcription companies -- the idea was to round them up (Rodeer, anyone?) get control of the hospital accounts and leverage the MTs into accepting less and less.  It worked on the little women so why not expand to credentialed men?     ...

Direct Primary Care Offers A Market Solution To Doctor Shortages.Oct 12, 2016

His patients pay a monthly fee for unlimited access to office visits and free in-office testing and procedures. And getting rid of the middleman cuts patient costs as much as 50 percent.
