Poll watching and voter suppression...sm

Posted: Sep 28, 2012

Recently conservative media has been saying that all the polls are wrong (presumably even Fox's poll)...lol. The liberal media has been saying they are doing this so that when Romney loses they can say the election was rigged (among other things). I think that's wrong. I think pubs who say the polls are wrong are doing that so they can say...see that's what happens when the polls are wrong when Romney wins through what can only be described as blatant voter suppression. Let's face it....voter suppression is the ONLY way Romney has a chance of winning, and I think they're counting on it. And why not? There are reports DAILY of incidents involving pubs purging rolls, shortening eary voting, making the ballot ridiculously long, etc.

Note a post below as one of today's incidents. As well, we can add to the list pubs targeting college students.

Exert from article:

In Ohio, election records show, one of the project's top priorities has been to remove college students from the voter rolls for failure to specify dorm room numbers. (As a group, college students are strongly in Obama's camp.)

Voters challenged include 284 students at the Ohio State University campus in Columbus, 110 at Oberlin College, 88 at College of Wooster, 38 at Kent State — and dozens more from the University of Cincinnati, Miami University, Lake Erie College, Walsh University, Hiram College, John Carroll University and Telshe Yeshiva, a rabbinical college near Cleveland.

This tactic seems to have failed, but many others have not.

Your guys will be standing out there this year. However, the black panthers never had anywhere near the concerted effort seen by republicans for this election cycle of suppressing the vote and using state legislatures to do it.

does not include disenfranchizing legitimate voters on false pretenses, which is exactly what the right is doing. In fact, it goes directly against the law.

Exactly how hard is it to see that keeping people from voting is illegal? Perhaps you missed all those struggles in the past just to gain the right to vote? Perhaps those good ol boy Jim Crow laws are the laws you are referring to when stating the right is "following the law." Those days are over. Get used to it.
It's moral superiority that frees them from moral considerations. - It is the left's evil that validates all evil

the left calls changing the rules of the game because you're not winning. The only reason to suppress people's votes is if you know you don't have their votes.

I don't understand how BLATANT they are with their "tactics" and how many people are STILL willing to vote for these liars.

they aren't so much voting for Romney, but rather against Obama. One poster below noted that it was okay to hold their nose and vote for Todd Akin (summarizing). I guess the same holds true for Romney.

They're worried conservatives will get disheartened - and stay home. Trying re-hearten them. NM

That's the Rush Limbug version...lol. They hate Obama too much to stay home. Just look at this board.

Even W's perennial 35% through everything finally - dropped to 22-23% at the end. That

[ In Reply To ..]
wasn't because his actions were beneath their standards, though, it was because at that point he was a loser who'd let his party down and was costing it big time. Almost-unconditional loyalty finally met its limit.

Romney is starting to look that same way. Knock wood, but they used to expect to gain solid majorities in both houses, now it's questionable whether they will be able to hold onto what they have.

Plus, don't forget neither 23% nor 35% ever elected anybody, no matter how avidly they listen to Rush, etc., and flock to the polls. They need the rest--the ones who don't auto-commit to just anybody who gains the nomination. (Mercifully--can you imagine!?)
