Case in point: Police in Des Moines, Iowa, said Friday that they had arrested Terri Lynn Rote, 55, on suspicion of voting twice in the general election. Rote, a registered Republican, allegedly submitted ballots at two different early-voting locations in Polk County, Iowa, according to local media reports. She has been charged with first-degree election misconduct, a felony. ;

Alexandria, VA, authorities have charged voter registration worker with submitting a batch of bogus voter-registration forms. Vafalay Massaquoi (Democrat) has been arraigned on four felony counts related to voter-registration fraud. He's been ordered jailed pending a December preliminary hearing.

They received sentences ranging from 72 days to 10 months in prison.
Rafael Antonio Velasquez CONVICTED: 2003 Ineligible Voting Rafael Antonio Velasquez, a former candidate for the Florida House, was convicted in 2003 for having voted twice before he became a U.S. citizen.
Gilda Oliveros CONVICTED: 2000 Fraudulent Use of Absentee Ballots Hialeah Gardens Mayor Gilda Oliveros was convicted of six charges that ranged from voter fraud to asking two of her former employees to murder her then-husband so she could cash in on a $45,000 life insurance policy. She was sentenced to 4.8 years in state prison, but was released on a $100,000 bond to appeal her sentence.

I live in a rural state and I have always had to show my ID (even though those working at the polling place know me personally) to vote. Everyone that I know has some sort of ID, either a driver's license, a birth certificate, a social security card, etc. My state does not require a photo ID, although I am aware that some states do require that.
