Another sponsor, Lou Engle, believes the Joplin tornadoes were God's punishment.  The anti-gay, anti-Muslim American Family Association megasponsor thinks killer whales kill people who ignore the Bible.  They bill the event as nondenominational and apolitical, thinking the rest of us won't take notice of the governor and alleged presidential candidate wannabe at the podium or Houston's Reliant Stadium being awash with an exclusively evangelical audience.  Non-Christians that show up will be admonished to "seek out the Living Christ," as their presence is considered by organizers to be "idolatry of the worst sort."   For details of the various sponsors extreme and somewhat frightening beliefs, go to the rightwing.org link below. 

The creep factor goes through the roof when considering the planned spectacle of IHOP's indoctrination of children into the Seven Mountains Theology, which advocates a Christian takeover of all aspects of American life, including government, business, entertainment and the media and supports the criminalization of homosexuality.  All apolitical and nondenominatinal, you see.  The God discussion link has some glossy photos for your viewing pleasure.   

Just color me a humiliated Houstonian who plans to be as far out of town as I can get on Aug 6, but a proud Texan who did not vote for the village idiot.  IMO, I doubt he will run in 2012.  His 3rd term just started this past January, his closet is full of skeletons and he knows it.  I don't believe he will ever leave Texas.  No such luck for us down here in the Lone Star, but count YOUR lucky stars up there in (what Perry thinks of as) the back forty.
