I had replied to the poster on the faith board regarding the religious part of her post. Here is the part that pertains to the political portion of her post:
It's not hard at all to understand why people will support Gov. Romney for president. He has the experience, knowledge. He understand issues the American people are facing. He has ideas on how to put people back to work. Mr. Romney will have people of all races and women in his cabinets. He will not rule the country according to his religion. Been an adult through many many presidents and none of them whether democrat or republican has ever let their religion run the country. They used their faith to guide them in the right directions, but never let it rule the country.
I never let religion rule the reason why I vote for someone, and most people here don't either, unless it's against the candidate they don't want elected, then they try to make a big dcfeal of relgion. To me it doesn't matter if someone is of any religion. People have voted for Christians and Muslims, so people will vote for a mormon faith based man.
What matters to people is issues. The economy, unemployment, foreign affairs, education, etc. People will vote for someone based on their voting record. Based on that they are job creators, not job destroyers. If they promised things to people they never followed through with. Things that make a difference in our daily lives. Not who someone prays to or doesn't pray to.
