I am always encouraged by stories of answered prayer, so I want to share one so others can be encouraged, too.
A couple of weeks ago, I stopped at the supermarket on my way home from walking the dog in the park. When I came out of the store, my car would not start. Of course, this was one of the few days my husband was able to get work and he was at least an hour away. When I tried to call him, I got an automated message that I did not have enough minutes on my prepaid phone to complete the call.
I remembered meeting a woman at a baby shower several months earlier, and she had told me she worked at a salon next door to the supermarket. I decided to go in and ask if I could use her phone. When I got inside, the lady behind the counter told me the woman no longer worked there, but that I could use the salon's phone. I called my husband and told him I would go wait for him in the car. The lady and I began talking, and she told me that her car had just died a few days before, and she had no idea what she was going to do because she did not have the money to either fix it or buy a new one. When I left, I prayed that my car would start and that this kind lady would have a way to get back and forth to work.
A few days later, my car was up and running. I stopped back into the salon to thank the woman and to ask her if she had resolved her car issue and to tell her that I had been praying for her. She said, "Well, God answered that prayer!" She told me a new client, a man, had come in 1 or 2 days after I had seen her. She had been telling him about her car woes, and he gave her a car! He told her, "Just thank God for it." I do have faith, but I was very happily surprised at what a blessing she had received.
I was really happy for her, but just being reminded how faithful God is was such a blessing to me, too. Brothers and sisters, let's often remind each other of our Father's love for us so we can always have hope.
