are vetted without mercy, a process that is media driven for the most part. We have Citizen's United to thank for the attack-ad theme the campaign has taken on. If Team Romney thought they could saturate the airways with negativity and bully tactics that would send so-called "spineless" democrats running in fear to cower in the corners, sucking their thumbs, they were mistaken. Besides, there seems to be an endless supply of fodder being churned out of the GOP camp for dems to use to help their opponents' candidate run on HIS record, while they sit back, watching the his numbers slowly erode.

When all is said and done, it boils down to what-you-see-is-what-you get, at least on Obama's side of the aisle. If that 30% of undecided independents find themselves still scratching their heads, trying to figure out which Romney is running, it's doubtful they will be leaning in his direction. IIn the meantime, if you want to see realtime ISSUES come into focus, I'd suggest Romney would do well to take the advice you're shelling out. You and I both know he can't, so he won't. "Obama sucks, so gimme a shot" is all he's got. The GOP knows they can never put Bush-squared over on a public whose memories continue to nurture fear and loathing that sent them running to the polls in in droves, poised to make their "over-my-dead-body" choices....the images of 700,000+ monthly jobs losses and a stock market free-fall still fresh in their minds.

Those obstinate indicators would tend to belie the "worse off than ever" mantra. Like I said, it's time to trot out Plan B. No wait I forgot. That's top-secret classified information, to which only a select few highest bidders are privy. Maybe he should try a tectonic flip-flop and thrust himself back into progressive moderate land in a last-ditch effort to syphon off some of Obama's centrist supporters. He did seem to be venturing into that territory just this past week when he revisited the Massachusetts gubernatorial campaign and retroactively embraced his health care mandate crown jewel.

I think it will boil down to - the majority would rather

Obama, so who is better? If Romney were to win, how long do you think it would take him to improve this country? It isn't going to happen overnight (if at all). Obama was handed this country on a rapid falling speed and it doesn't get fixed overnight for anybody. At least he is trying.

we ended up with a healthcare plan without a public OPTION, critical when it comes to holding down healthcare costs. As it now exists, the insurance companies have no incentive to keep their premiums down because their is no nonprofit competition. I do feel good though that we have a beginning with "Obamacare". It will need tweeking, but it is a beginning. In 2017, my state will seek a waiver to be exempt from Obamacare as we will have a single-payor system in place by then. I am very thankful to live where I do.

Until yesterday, Romney was stuggling on a daily basis to identify himself beyond that obtuse opaque uber candidate who'd rather commit harikari than divulge his tax records for public scrutiny. Those following Team Romney were forced to have precautionary neck braces onboard to prevent acute whiplash while scoring endless rounds of reversals and U-turns. Those of us not willing to stand passively by watching the media sensationlize and obsess over the minutia of sophistic punditry, stepped up to address the gaping holes Romney's incompetence and secrecy left behind between stump stops, and proceeded to vet the candidate on our own terms.

All we had to go by were the crumbs and droppings of Mitt's own campaign cues, lurching from one topic to the next, declining to acknowledge the laundry list of taboos he issued while refusing to adequately introduce himself to voters. First, we looked at his let's-don't-go-there term as governor. After all, this WAS the only political experience he offered up. Then it was his business career at Bain and his much touted Olympics management. We also discussed Obama's healthcare plan every time we examined Romneycare, since they are essentially one in the same. Then Mitt gave us the much cherished gift of his "diplomatic" fundraising mission, so we followed right along in an effort to fill in the gaps HE created while shutting out the frustrated US press corp who were tagging along for the ride. We did the best we could with what we had to work with.

We now engage this new phase of a more sharply defined identity, one dominated by the persona of a draconian budgetmaster and winger extremist ideologue, in the wake of the VP announcement. We are no longer restricted to the murky mudpit of a speculative pre-veepstakes venue, otherwise void of substance. We also have a brand new ticket to look at....the Ryan/Romney ticket. From this day forward, with more than ample time remaining, and with the Ryan budget's looming gutting of Medicare in mind, the time has come to examine and contrast the two approaches to health care in excruciating detail.

Personally, I am going to enjoy watching the layers of Ryancare being peeled back, one-by-one, until its sulphurous rotton core meets the fresh air in light of day. IMO, it will quickly self-destruct, in much the same way Romney's presidential run has, under the weight of its own cargo.

A while back president Obama proposed a small business hiring income tax credit. Since it still hasn't been voted on, I think small businesses might be holding off on hiring waiting for it to pass so they can take advantage of the credit. What do you all think?
