Posted: Nov 8, 2013

If you are interested in the facts about the people that are receiving cancellation letters from their insurance companies due to Obamacare, the Affordable Care Act, then this is something that will interest you.

Pay special attention to the link in the story regarding what Consumer Reports uncovered.

There's also a very good further explanation through a link in the story from Talking Points Memo.

For these disgusting scams.
_______________

”The reality is that this could do real harm.”

Laura Etherton, a health policy analyst at the U.S. Public Interest Research Group, told TPM:

If you’re an insurance company, you’re trying to hang onto the consumers you have at the highest price you can get them. You can take advantage of the confusion about what people get to have now. It’s a new world. It’s disappointing that insurance companies are sending confusing letters to consumers to take advantage of that confusion. The reality is that this could do real harm.

Note these unscrupulous insurance companies are USING, - BUILDING ON the lies the right has been spreading.

[ In Reply To ..]
People swamped with lies from the right for years now have been set up to believe they will have to pay hundreds more every month -- because these disasters seemingly befalling them just confirm what the right has been saying.

And the scum at the insurance companies use this. BTW--those clerks at the insurance companies? They are just as guilty of evil deeds as the executives who set policy and the bosses who give them their orders. It couldn't happen without them.

The same for the right winger propagandists and politicians who plotted harm all along to people who need healthcare. Michele Bachmann actually promised people who trusted her that children, the elderly and mothers would die would die when the ACA became law. Somewhere, some poor person is hiding under her house or barricaded in her apartment. Probably a number of them.

You have it all wrong.. Obama LIED to me. My - policy was cancelled because of HIS law.nm

Obamacare itself is the scam! Forcing a 60-yr-old woman - to purchase maternity care is a scam! nm

Or a 60 year old man. Even worse. - Idiots.

I'm sorry, but insurance policies ALWAYS cover - conditions most will never have, including

[ In Reply To ..]
in your case all expenses unique to men and children of both sexes. And THOSE would be very, very long lists of things to get worked up about.

If you wished. But I don't advise it. This is the way health insurance always works.

And maternity care? It was included until recently when shylock insurers took it out of some policies, no matter how many were hurt, because they knew they could get away with it.

After all, the employers choosing what insurance to buy don't want women getting pregnant, putting in claims, losing work, etc. How clever of them to figure out they could take out maternity care so that employees couldn't AFFORD to have children. (Where are family values and Christian voters on this issue, BTW?)

Please don't think this nasty, greedy, and discriminatory behavior had anything at all to do with saving YOU money. It didn't, and it doesn't. Your premium has skyrocketed over 30 years and never dropped once. The employee's roles in all this are strictly as labor to be worked for profit and cash cow to be milked for profit. Moo...

ObamaCare Is Getting Less Affordable By The MinuteMay 26, 2015
Health Reform: So much for the "affordable" part of the Affordable Care Act. Looks like ObamaCare premiums will rocket next year while sky-high deductibles make it too costly for many to see the doctor. Last Monday, IBD's Jed Graham broke the news that big insurers in six states "are seeking to raise rates an average 18.6% next year." BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee — which currently accounts for 70% of the ObamaCare enrollees in that state — is looking to increase premiums a whoppi ...

Is Obamacare Really Affordable? Not For The Middle Class.Nov 05, 2016
programs. For the 85% of enrollees with lower incomes, federal subsidies make the premiums somewhat more affordable. Those even closer to the poverty line can get additional subsidies that reduce the deductibles, which can run into the thousands of dollars. But for many middle class Americans -- a single person earning more than $47,520 or a family of four with an income of $97,200 -- the pricey premiums and deductibles mean health care coverage remains out of reach. "The middle clas ...

I Just Have One Comment About The Affordable Care ActJun 29, 2012
It seems to me that a lot of MTs feel that the MTSOs are very greedy and pay slave wages. It is my understanding that under the ACA companies with more than 50 employees will have the option of either providing medical insurance *OR* opt out and pay the less expensive penalty. I also believe that many of these MTSOs have in excess of 50 employees, particularly the larger ones like Nuance and M*Model. Just keep that thought in mind while you connect the dots. ...

How To Achieve Affordable Health CareDec 23, 2009
Despite all the hubbub about health care, the United States can have affordable health care tomorrow if we want it. There have been real solutions available, solutions that have been right under our noses for decased, but you don't often hear about them and the prospects of getting them are rather grim unless the public is apprised of them. Today's debates and town hall meetings have not been about reducting the overall cost of health care, but about who's going to pay for it. See ...

Ripped-off At Safeway --- AGAIN.Dec 29, 2009
Does this ever happen to any of you?  It happens to me far too often.  Tonight it was fish, which I rarely buy because it's so expensive! I'm in the frozen food aisle, and Gorton's frozen fish fillets (all types) are on sale.  Normally $8.99, and tonight the sign said that with your Club Card, it was only $4.99.  "Good deal", I thought, so I bought a box of frozen breaded tilapia.  As usual, (which I sometimes think they're trained to do),  ...

Obamacare Meltdown Has Arrived. Tennessee Is Ground Zero For Obamacare'sOct 07, 2016

US Government Passed The Affordable Boat ActNov 10, 2013
The U.S. government has just passed a new law called: "The affordable boat act" declaring that every citizen MUST purchase a new boat, by April 2014. This does not include taxes, trailers, towing fees, licensing and registration fees, fuel, docking and storage fees, maintenance or repair costs. This law has been passed, because until now, typically only wealthy and financially responsible people have been able t ...

"In this case, they're trying to get in just one more abuse." ...

Avoid The Restrooms At Target. Better StillApr 21, 2016
It doesn't matter what position you take about transgender issues - it is NOT a good idea to allow people to choose whatever restroom they happen to prefer.  Target has NO way of knowing that the man who chooses the women's restroom is truly transgender, rather than being a predator with an entirely different purpose in mind. This is an unsafe world.  You NEED, and HAVE A RIGHT to know who is in the next stall. For this incredibly naive move, I've sent Target a message ...

Study:Chicago Criminals Avoid Gun Stores, Shows,Aug 31, 2015
As for specifics regarding sources for purchasing guns, some of the inmates indicated that gangs have individuals with a Firearm Owners Identification Card who buy guns then sell them to gang members. Others indicated using “corrupt cops” who seize guns then “put them back on the street.” The inmates made clear they do not walk into gun stores to buy guns. Which proves a point Breitbart News, Gun Owners of America, and other gun rights groups have made for years; namely, that backgro ...

Obamacare Is Failing From Behind... His Goals For ObamacareJul 20, 2016
1) Have it collapse so that single payer can be implemented amidst the ensuing chaos. 2) Have that happen on somebody else’s watch. Obamacare was designed to fail so the Democrats could “reform” it with complete government provided socialized medicine. That is the entire purpose for it. Obamacare is designed to collapse so they can backfill the vacuum with government run socialized medicine. Eventually, everyone will be on some form of Medicare. I believe that was one of Bernie’ ...
