to Allstate or State Farm for flood insurance doesn't stay with them. State Farm or Allstate just funnels it right to FEMA, who actually provides the flood insurance. It is actually a government program through and through. My blood is boiling and steam is coming.

They are talking about these "historic" floods. They have "historic" floods every few years in LA. I bought a house and then FEMA changed the flood zones. The area in which I live literally NEVER floods, so I took out the flood insurance I was now required to have before the flood map changed, which was the requirement to have a frozen premium. Then FEMA cancelled the policy and issued a new one. I lost the frozen premium. So now my rates go up every time it floods somewhere else.

To add insult to injury, I was watching the ABC News with David Muir one night. They said that these areas flooded in Louisiana have 80%-90% of the houses in them without flood insurance. So why aren't these people required to have flood insurance? Those of us in my area are paying these ridiculous premiums and they don't have to?

It's like Obamacare. Government involvement in the insurance business always raises costs and lowers coverage.
