has anybody used the Making Home Affordable

Posted: Oct 18, 2013

I'm down to around $12 an hour and am going to try to refinance my home with the making home affordable counselors.  Anybody have experience with it?

Yes, I applied years ago - low pay

Yep, and I am on my 4th year of it probably (out of 5). It helped with my interest rate/balloon arm we had in place. My husband lost his business and my pay was not great, so thought it was a perfect time to do it. I was accepted after about 6 months. Easy process for me. My mortgage was with Bank of America. they had just recently acquired Countrywide mortgages. Hope this helps.

oh gosh i didn't realize it took that long - better get on it I guess

Well. simiilar in Mortgage Modification through Chase - not a win for me

I don't make enough money. I have dropped from over $3000 a month to barely $1000 a month in income. The program requires 31% of your income towards housing payment, and that percentage of my income is not enough to sustain the loan without extending it for WAY MORE than 30 years.

So no clue WHAT I am going to do. I have nearly $100,000 in equity... just cannot make the monthly payments

I Just Have One Comment About The Affordable Care ActJun 29, 2012
It seems to me that a lot of MTs feel that the MTSOs are very greedy and pay slave wages. It is my understanding that under the ACA companies with more than 50 employees will have the option of either providing medical insurance *OR* opt out and pay the less expensive penalty. I also believe that many of these MTSOs have in excess of 50 employees, particularly the larger ones like Nuance and M*Model. Just keep that thought in mind while you connect the dots. ...

ObamaCare Is Getting Less Affordable By The MinuteMay 26, 2015
Health Reform: So much for the "affordable" part of the Affordable Care Act. Looks like ObamaCare premiums will rocket next year while sky-high deductibles make it too costly for many to see the doctor. Last Monday, IBD's Jed Graham broke the news that big insurers in six states "are seeking to raise rates an average 18.6% next year." BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee — which currently accounts for 70% of the ObamaCare enrollees in that state — is looking to increase premiums a whoppi ...

How To Achieve Affordable Health CareDec 23, 2009
Despite all the hubbub about health care, the United States can have affordable health care tomorrow if we want it. There have been real solutions available, solutions that have been right under our noses for decased, but you don't often hear about them and the prospects of getting them are rather grim unless the public is apprised of them. Today's debates and town hall meetings have not been about reducting the overall cost of health care, but about who's going to pay for it. See ...

Affordable Health Care 2014Jun 02, 2013
Totally don't understand this Obamacare.  Dtr's employer provides insurance that is extremely costly and they were told it is rated like this because there are several employees with AIDS/HIV and their expenses rate up the insurance.  Is it possible this will be effected in any way in 2014? ...

US Government Passed The Affordable Boat ActNov 10, 2013
The U.S. government has just passed a new law called: "The affordable boat act" declaring that every citizen MUST purchase a new boat, by April 2014. These "affordable" boats will cost an average of $54,000-$155,000 each. This does not include taxes, trailers, towing fees, licensing and registration fees, fuel, docking and storage fees, maintenance or repair costs. This law has been passed, because until now, typically only wealthy and financially responsible people have been able t ...

Is Obamacare Really Affordable? Not For The Middle Class.Nov 05, 2016
programs. For the 85% of enrollees with lower incomes, federal subsidies make the premiums somewhat more affordable. Those even closer to the poverty line can get additional subsidies that reduce the deductibles, which can run into the thousands of dollars. But for many middle class Americans -- a single person earning more than $47,520 or a family of four with an income of $97,200 -- the pricey premiums and deductibles mean health care coverage remains out of reach. "The middle clas ...

Making A WillAug 12, 2010
How many of you have set aside time to make your final wishes known?  I kept saying I was going to do it, and today at least I have written in a tablet all vital information my family needs to know, phone numbers, bank info, etc.  Money is so limited, but I want to have a formal will done very soon. I saw firsthand what confusion comes of not letting people know simple things.  There are so many details, and I am going to make things as easy on everyone as possible.  I ...

Does Anyone Have Any Experience Making Jul 04, 2012
I got interested in this after hearing a radio show about fermented foods and the recipe seemed simple, cabbage, salt, let  it sit out for 4 weeks or so and there you have it.  My cabbage has been sitting out for a couple of weeks now and is actually sort of looking like the sauerkraut you get in the cans.  Has anyone ever made this, eaten it and lived to tell the tale?  Thanks and happy 4th!  ...

Making My Own CalendarsJan 02, 2013
