Obama speaking in my town today (sm)

You can only get a ticket if you are a union member.  EQUALITY FOR ALL!!  Liar.

Where? What event? WH calendar says - "no public schedule" for today.

Is it a fundraiser? Who is sponsoring the event?

Whitehouse lies. Toledo. - nm

Oh, Toledo, Monday, not Saturday,? Then WH didn't lie - about today, huh?

[ In Reply To ..]
The OP, on the other hand, well.... Accurate statements cannot be made on accessibility to a scheduled campaign event until precise information is made available for comment. Misspeaks are common, but conclusions drawn on such misspeaks are invalid and patently false.
Okay, so one day they didn't lie. - ***

On the other hand lies from top to bottom of GOP - come to us on a daily basis
[ In Reply To ..]
especially about President Obama. If blog fact checkers specialized in combating them were paid a living wage for their full-time work and OT pay were offered, it would put a considerable dent in those UE rates and numbers.

Maybe we should start a count ticker documenting how many lies are told by them on a minute-to-minute basis vs those allegedly coming out of the WH calendar and see what we come up with. I'd be willing to wager the former would outstrip the national crime rate counter in no time.
Can you get any more petty??:: - Probably not

For me, there is no such thing as a "petty" lie during - an election campaign.
[ In Reply To ..]
IMO, each opportunity to catch another winger, caught up in another lie, and bring it to the forefront, is worthy of pursuit. Perhaps your party views lies differently.
Obama be keeping you left "wingers" (lib quote):: - pretty busy with all his petty lies then

On Monday, President Obama will stop in Toledo as part of his Road to Charlotte tour, and speak at a Scott High School Labor Day rally, sponsored by UAW, which represents Chrysler Group LLC Toledo Assembly complex workers.  As sponsors, they print the tickets and sell the tickets at local UAW offices....to anyone interested in attending, of course.  Even Fox interviewed exicited HS students and parents planning to attend the rally.  Quite naturally, interest among union workers is also high (link 1).

As of Friday @ 3:36 p.m, the following information was available on ticket sales:

Tickets are available to attend the event for free and can be picked up at UAW Local 12 on Ashland Avenue in central Toledo and UAW Local 14 on Jackman Road in west Toledo Friday from noon to 6 p.m. They are distributed on a first-come-first-served basis and are limited per person. UAW Local 14 is limiting distribution to UAW members only at this time.

More tickets are expected to be available at the local Obama campaign office on Ontario, but it is unknown when that will happen.

For all those doubting Thomases, here's a photo of Scott HS students holding tickets in their hot little hands....decidedly NOT UAW workers.

So does this mean he couldn't even get enough - union workers to attend? LOL

No, it means Toledans of all stripes will be - enthusiastically attending the rally

[ In Reply To ..]
The links are there, but in case you missed it, 3000 tickets were distributed the first 3 hours after the locations opened. The enrollment at Scott is just over 7,000, so it looks like they are set to full those auditorium seats easily. Meanwhile, Romney addressed "hundreds" of supporters in Cincinnati at Union Station today.
Of all stripes? What does that mean? - Splain.
[ In Reply To ..]
nm
Since ticket sales are not restricted to union workers only - as claimed in the OP
[ In Reply To ..]
"of all stripes" (and sorts, to complete the idiom) means folks from all walks of life...infants, babies, toddlers, children, teens, adults, seniors, elders, employed (union, non-union, hourly wage, gratuity and salary earners, exempt and non exempt, with and without benefits, independent contractors, self-employed, business owners), underemployed, unemployed (jobless, fixed income and those living exclusively off capital gains), part- and full-time pre-K, elementary, middle. high-school, community college and university students, impoverished, working poor, middle class, wealthy, able-bodied, disabled, healthy, chronically and terminally ill, lesbians, gays, bisexual, transgender, atheists, Jews, Christians, Moslems, Hindi, Buddhists, all ethnicities of all colors....the whole 9-yards gamut of human diversity can buy tickets to the event.
Have you really never heard the expression, - "people of all stripes," or are you...
[ In Reply To ..]
....trying to make a faux issue of that poster's comment, for some puzzling reason?
Not the person you responded to, but I've never heard it - and I don't find anything wrong
[ In Reply To ..]
with her post. Really, I've never heard the expression "people of all stripes". I don't have cable TV so don't watch any news station. Maybe it's been on there, I don't know, but it is not unusual for someone not to have heard an expression. What I don't understand is why you made this comment to her when there is nothing wrong with her post asking what it means.
Simple. She likes to stir things up. - nm
[ In Reply To ..]
nm
Do you know who she is? I've never seen her moniker before - annieb
[ In Reply To ..]
and the body of her report does not say who she is. After all she could be a he for all we know.

So you don't know who she/he is and your statement about stirring things up is an assumption and actually is what you are doing.

Wanna try again?
There wasn't much at all to her post, - so I wasn't taking issue...
[ In Reply To ..]
....with anything particular she said. The tagging onto the question with the word "splain" made it sound disingenuous to me, so it sounded like a faux question, to me.

"People of all stripes" is neither a recent expression nor a cable TV-used expression....it's an expression that's been around in general language for a long, long time. I was just surprised that someone on a medical transcription/language board had never heard of it.

Great that he's going to a school and they're giving out free tickets. - backwards typist

[ In Reply To ..]
Wonder how many school kids will be there that are not old enough to vote? I saw where 1 interviewed was 15, 1 was 17, and 1 was 18. Unless Ohio has lower voting ages than the rest of the country, that's 2 right there that can't vote for him.

The original poster wasn't lying about only union members getting tickets. The article was updated, but it still stated:

"UAW Local 14 is limiting distribution to UAW members only at this time."

"Tickets distributed to United Auto Workers union members at the Local 12 Hall on Ashland Avenue on Friday were printed with an incorrect address."

Did you purposely miss that or just didn't read the article?

I'm actually the one who - bolded and colored that in the OP.

[ In Reply To ..]
in an effort to contrast that with the other two locations where tickets were being sold to the public....thus, debunking the OP claim. Evidently, you overlooked those two chapters in your haste to point out the printing error you claim I missed. The READ STORY update wasn't there when I read the article this morning, but I hardly think Toledans interested in attending the celebration will have a hard time figuring out where the newly renovated HS is located, do you? They'll just have to follow the posted signs, word-of-mouth, traffic jams and thousands of folks gathering there after the parade.

Speaking of updates, that one was on Friday afternoon, still giving two full days for rally enthusiasts to get their tickets, regardless of whether of not Chapter 14 opens up its sales. BTW, please note the black bolded info in my other post, on availability of tickets at Obama HQs, where no restrictions apply either.

Wow. What do you have against HS kids getting access to the POTUS at a Labor Day rally? Some candidates evidently look FORWARD into the future, where those public school kids, who have won awards for college prep achievements, will soon be exploring their voting preferences through the lenses of college students, all wrapped up in partisan student loan wars. Maybe Romney doesn't do campus tours since he thinks voting age is still 21, like Governor Big Hair, and is much more pre-occupied with suppressing their votes when they do come of age. Who knows?
