300 Million Americans - sm

6 million on Obamascare
6 million lost insurance due to O'scare
? million still uninsured

This is a success??

How many are going to continue to pay every month or every quarter?

By what percentage will premiums increase for 2015 due to the colossal failure of this sham?

There are a lot of democrats turning away from this issue for the upcoming elections. Note, these are apparently highly educated and intelligent individuals.

Some plans have as low as $100 deductible. - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I'm sure those 6+ million people find that a lot more affordable than cheap, meaningless policies with $4,500 deductibles.

No pre-existing condition excuses can be used any more.

No more lifetime caps.

No more looking for excuses NOT to insure a person.

Heck, yes, this is a SUCCESS!!!

I suppose time will tell but not for many of us, truly. - see message

[ In Reply To ..]
They could have fixed pre-existings, caps, and people being dropped without doing what they did.

My coverage is horrible. I live in a red state and even my ACA choices were horrible.

It truly does depend on how old you are, where you live, etc. Many "successes" won't feel the same when the subsidies are phased out. Betcha money on that one.

It doesn't matter if you are enrolled - Will they take your insurance

[ In Reply To ..]
Many places are not accepting OC people. Cancer victims not allowed to get the best health care.

So....enroll all you want, it won't do you any good if places are not accepting it or you can't get into the doctor, or you have to wait months and months when you need care now.

The people touting this as a success are only - those reaping benefit from it.

[ In Reply To ..]
They do not care about the majority that has been screwed. The majority of Americans are still against the unAffordable Care Act. We will see this play out in Republican favor in November.

Reaping the benefit - mbmt

[ In Reply To ..]
Yes, many of us are reaping the benefits of the ACA. As for the comment that we do not care about the "majority that has been screwed", I can honestly say that when I was uninsured, people I knew that were insured did not give a rip and they seemed to think that because they could afford insurance that they deserved good health care and that those of us who were not as fortunate did not. That was my experience. I cannot really relate to the idea that anyone should be without good, affordable health coverage, did not feel that way many years ago when I had good coverage, when I was uninsured for eight years, and do not feel that way now that I am covered under an excellent ACA plan.

That being said, most of the problems that you speak of are not in my opinion the fault of ACA but rather the greedy insurance companies and also an unwillingness to investigate the marketplace and see what is available, and in some cases just an absolute hatred for President Obama and refusal to have anything to do with ACA because it is a law that he was able to get passed.
Bravo! - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Most people who are now insured thanks to the ACA would have liked to see a law passed where every single United States citizen was covered free of charge. No insurance companies, no medical bills, and no discrimination.

I had a friend who got $4 million in a divorce settlement. She was the first one to complain about a $100 increase in her health insurance. She didn't want to pay for those that are "indigent" or "illegal aliens" to get insurance. Needless to say, I haven't spoken to her since. I choose not to associate with that type of individual.
"absolute hatred for President Obama" - You sure you want to say that??
[ In Reply To ..]
That's a pretty strongly worded statement. I can't speak for everyone, but I would think a more accurate statement would be an absolute hatred for Obama's policies, not for him personally.

Thirty-four Million Americans Have Given Up On Organized ReligionJul 27, 2010
I thought this was a great article to share. Thirty-four million Americans have given up on organized religion, according to the most recent American Religious Identification Survey. Yet for many of these dropouts -- from churches, synagogues, temples and so on -- spirituality is still a vital part of their lives. How else would you explain the phenomenal success of Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now, Elizabeth Gilbert's Eat, Pray, Love (soon a major motion picture), or the wri ...

63% Of Young Republicans Enrolled IN Or Staying ONAug 21, 2013
All the Obamacare provisions already in effect are proving very popular, including, as now revealed, the one allowing young adults to be covered under their parents' policies until age 26. Link to Commonwealth Fund report just out below. This latest discovery about young Republicans--that they both know about it and want it--is yet another piece of really bad news for the TPers. One guess where their parents tend to be on the subject, too. Soon, like all of us, the 27-year-olds will be ...

A Third Of Americans Now Say They Are Nov 04, 2012
From Pew Research, 09/12/2012: The percentage of Americans who say they are in the lower-middle or lower class has risen from a quarter of the adult population to about a third in the past four years, according to a national survey of 2,508 adults by the Pew Research Center. Not only has the lower class grown, but its demographic profile also has shifted. People younger than 30 are disproportionately swelling the ranks of the self-defined lower classes. The shares of Hispanics and whites ...

We are all Americans. Why is it that I feel like an anarchy is about to happen. Blacks are against whites again even though we already fought this fight in the 60s and have laws and blacks are much better off than before the 60s. I don't recall threatening anyone or calling names. Again, I just asked you to stop ...

Americans Never Give Up Your Guns!Jan 10, 2013
Americans never give up your guns 28.12.2012   By Stanislav Mishin  These days, there are few things to admire about the socialist, bankrupt and culturally degenerating USA, but at least so far, one thing remains: the right to bear arms and use deadly force to defend one's self and possessions.
