I would pay the stupid taxes and take my cut which might be 400 million. I would probably have to hire a lawyer, put the money in a blind trust. And think about what I would invest that money in so I can gain some capital, or whatever the rich people do. I would divide some of the money and give only one million dollars to my family and friends, which is plenty enough, and I would invest in something that will give me a nice return. I know, I'll buy up Nuance and M-Model and get rid of India and all the stupid rules and invite the real MT's to come back and work for what they are worth!!

Common sense, right. But that's where I'd start.

My daughter and coworkers purchased about 50 tickets. They drew up a contract. Smart! One of the stipulations is no one can quit until a certain date. Her job is a specialized and seasonal gov job, so things would get messy if the whole office up and quit.

So. Quitting the job isn't an "option" for some (lucky) people :-)

Purina and PetSmart really both need a pat on the back. No I did NOT win the lottery but I was just wondering... If a person was to win the lottery, say about 5 mil, I know that they have to pay taxes when they get the money, but do they have to pay taxes on it every year like an income. Say I won 5 mil and quit my job and let most of it sit in a bank. Would I have to pay an annual tax on that money or would I only have to pay that 1 time when I first got the money? I am going to set-up a new transcription company. My clients will have to go with one form used across the board for every one of the notes done no matter what they are. For ESL folks, their cost to me would be more than those who speak English well. We would have an action committee where ALL people would be heard and management would require answering all employees issues within a set amount of time.
