I thought you wanted a decrease in big government? Private businesses added 64,000 workers in September, and the government shed 159,000 workers. Most of the losses came from budget cuts by cash-strapped state and local governments, as well as temporary census jobs ending. It was a zero-sum gain for the unemployment rate, which remained unchanged at 9.6%.

The private sector did not do NEARLY as good as was hoped. There is no recovery being assisted by the stimulus. If anything, it delayed the recovery.

the panic from those like Obama constantly touting his plan was a must to prevent the end of the world made it so even people WITH money got scared, and basically everyone stopped spending, hurting the economy additionally. I know small business owners who are still too scared to hire additional help, even if they need it. Obama definitely said the stimulus was needed to keep unemployment under 8pct, which did not work either.

I suggest you brace yourself. Notice how it took essentially 1 year to reverse the 2 years of free fall between 2007 and 2009 once ARRA was passed.

Question: Explain please why GOP senators (latest being Enzi) have consistently blocked any and all jobs initiatives since ARRA was enacted? Enzi recently managed to play out the clock at the end of the last session with his objections to TANF reauthorization, a popular program with the potential to create 240,000 jobs. The examples of this are endless.

Answer: The GOP are such sore losers and are so bent on regaining power, they are willing to tank the economy, prolong the recession and do their dead-level best to stagnate unemployment in the process, then turn around and have the utter gall to scream jobs! jobs! jobs! all up and down the campaign trail.

Their actions speak louder than any words you can string together in their defense, so please don't bother even trying. Just keep telling yourself what a good job GOP leaders are doing and keep on keeping on with the filthiest fear and smear campaign tactics in recent history. What goes around comes around.

The GOP has done nothing ever since the inauguration except pitch one huge collective hissy fit. You willful ignorance reflected in your statement about the stimulus is beyond inaccurate. All I an say is that you need to read up on exctly what the stimulus did and who has benefitted as a result of it. Maybe after you have done that, you could come back and explain how the stimulus has delayed recovery, while you are at it.
