It's interesting to keep up with past presidents.

... As a reflection of their presidency.  Redefining their core principles if their presidency didn't go so well, i.e. Jimmy Carter in Habitat for Humanity and being a per diem foreign diplomat in crisis situations, not to mention all the other amazing things he continues to do.  Or if you leave in favor of the American people, you are welcomed and sought for endorsements and fundraisers (Clinton).  George Bush so far has so far not been sought out to represent his party, so he's doing this? I would love the conservative take on this.

in the Cayman Islands, paid speaker for a group come to learn how to be better tax dodgers? I admit assisting a Christian fascist movement pursuing their avowed purpose of replacing our elective government with their own easily tops that, though.

George W. Bush gave the keynote address at an “investment conference” in the Cayman Islands on Thursday night. But we don’t know what he said, reports NBC News, because Bush’s own team required a complete “blackout” on any details about the speech.

The keynote speech by the former president was “totally closed to all journalists,” and conference organizers were banned from discussing any aspect of it even in general terms, spokesman Dan Kneipp said.

One would assume that as a former president who evidently does not aspire to do anything socially useful for the rest of his life, George Bush doesn’t particularly care about how awful the “optics” of his visit to one of the world’s largest offshore financial centers look. Let’s give him points for consistency: Bush devoted his presidency to lowering taxes on the rich and easing the regulatory burden on corporations. Four years after leaving his country in a state of complete ruin, he’s busying himself giving a speech in one of the world’s most popular destinations for avoiding taxes and financial oversight. There’s a stark, savage purity to his commitment that can’t be denied. George Bush is a true believer, a dedicated servant of the 1 percent.

But why the blackout? Why this cowardice, this pusillanimous unwillingness to preach his gospel in the light of day without fear of public disfavor. Doesn’t he believe that it is appropriate for hedge fund managers to keep their tax liabilities as low as possible? Isn’t it a point of faith with him that corporations must flee U.S. jurisdiction to escape the dread claws of the nanny state? What’s he got to be ashamed of?"

I guess that all the good things he has - done...

like volunteering in Africa, raising money for cervical cancer research, and everything he has done for veterans, doesn't mean anything in light of this.

Good deeds always count. For an ex-president - he's a bigtime lightweight, though. Of

course, as a disgraced ex-president, he is not exactly sought out the way they usually are.

Disgraced? - (sm)

And yet you applaud Carter and Clinton?

Interesting, your idea of "disgraced."

Who Are You Picks For Best And Worst 3 Presidents In The 20-21st CenturyNov 17, 2014
I had a hard time choosing between 1 and 2, but here are my top 3 picks and why: 1. Teddy Roosevelt (Republican, Progressive Party): One of the best thought out, organized, and well-implemented presidential goals of all time, the "Square Deal" between companies, consumers and workers with the "3 C's" as the motivating force behind everything he did domestically: Conservation of natural resources (federal protection acts to preserve natural resources) , Control of corporations (anti- ...

According to a new study by the non-partisan group Stateline, not only is the rate of Food Stamp fraud only at about 3.2 percent nationwide, it’s actually gone down since the Bush Recession. In fact, thanks to a set of initiates undertaken at both the state and federal levels, food stamp under- or over-payments are at the lowest they’ve been since SNAP’s original “Food Stamp Program” predecessor came into being in 1939. Food stamp fraud has toppled by almost two thirds. In fact, ...
