IRS wants out of Obamadoesn'tcare - and didn't they (sm)

say they were going to be hiring tens of thousands of new "workers" to help people navigate the system?  They'll help us, but none of them will have to enroll in it.  Hypocrites.

Employees with policies that meet ACA standards - can keep their policies and

have no reason to shop exchanges, which are set up for uninsured individuals and small businesses. Why should IRS employees be treated any differently under the law? IOW, why is GOP Rep Dave Camp trying to single out a group of employees, whether it be union, federal or whatever, and to FORCE them to cancel policies they are perfectly happy with to participate in the market that was never intended for them in the first place?

The key word here is exemption. Why should they be treated differently, indeed. - (sm)

Hopefully it will be defunded.

No. The key words are "already insured." - Reality check. Defunding ain't happening

no matter how loud the GOP children's wing squeals.

Well, for one thing you've been subsidizing "luxury" - policies for many government

[ In Reply To ..]
employees, federal, state, local. Their employers have been very generous with your money, offering coverages significantly better than you get yourself for much less cost to their employees through what have become exceptionally low deductibles, etc. As what we pay out of pocket for insurance and healthcare has skyrocketed, theirs has not. Isn't that nice of us?

Obamacare is putting a stop to this. Those who are losing "cadillac" policies can still have them if ours aren't good enough, they just have to buy them out of their own pockets--not ours.

So-called cadillac plans under FEHBP have always - had higher premiums

[ In Reply To ..]
and that is not changing under ACA. The stabilization of OOP premiums and co-pays under FEHBP will now be extended to the rest of us who participate in state exchanges, which will be offering the same wide variety of plans with a broad range of low/high-premium, low/high-deductible options. That's nice for all of us.

OC is not putting a stop to this. The issue some in Congress are raising has to do with how eligibility for subsidies is calculated, based on incomes less than 400 percent of poverty level. Since we already pay them handsome salaries above that level, they will now be required to pay more for choices they make to sign up for the higher-end plans, since taxpayer "generosity" allows them to afford to do so. That is as it should be. That some among them are complaining about the costs of "cadillac" plans should surprise no one, nor should it be of any concern for the rest of us who will qualify for lower OOP expenses based on the generous threshold for tax credit subsidies, making a wider variety of health care policy options available to all Americans.

So I think we should all heave a sign of relief that the end of high-income health care premium subsidies for our do-nothings on the Hill who are covered under FEHBP is drawing nigh.
This must be how Obama is spending the bilions - to try and promote this garbage

Wow, I've used this site for years and never realized they had a prayer request forum.  I think I've only asked for prayer through an online method once before, and that was several years ago.  As I need all the help I can get, I am putting false pride aside and taking a leap of faith.  I know that whatever comes of this is meant to happen, I can only be a passenger while God drives the car. Wow I Didn't Know This!Oct 17, 2013
From a CNN article online:  The tea party movement was born in early 2009 to protest the Wall Street bailouts initiated under President George W. Bush a few months earlier. It also opposed the stimulus and other economic and health care policies of President Barack Obama, who succeeded Bush in the White House. So at least the party is protesting the policies of both parties, not just Obama... at least on this issue.  There is STILL however a deep vein of racism running through the ...

But, Senate Democrats and the President rejected that measure.  Senator Reid said it is a "non starter," ...

we're already scr=wed, because Bush went in and stirred up that hornet's nest for no reason a few years back.  I don't think that region can EVER be "fixed", or even improved.  They'll likely destabilize the rest of world right along with their rabid belief that everyone must follow Islam principles, or die.    So, whatever happens, happens.  If the Pubs think they can improve this mess, they're only kidding themselves.   Meanwhile, not ...
