Wasserman Schultz Worries About Re-election as Democrats Drop Their Support by Javier Manjarres Early voting has begun in Florida and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is expressing nervousness about the prospects for her re-election in her congressional race against Republican Karen Harrington. This past Saturday, Wasserman Schultz personally lambasted a longtime Democrat supporter from Miami-Dade County who was caught talking to Harrington. This same individual further annoyed Wasserman Schultz by refusing to display a “Wasserman Schultz for Congress” sign and then told Debbie that he had already voted for Harrington instead of her. This longtime Democrat leader, who shall remain anonymous for purposes of this report, indicated that he was disgusted and said that had never been so insulted in his life. On Sunday, the Shark Tank visited one of the strongest Democrat precincts in Congressional District 23- the City of Hollywood’s main public library- and in speaking to Democrats waiting in line as wells as those who just voted, many of them said that they voted for Harrington over Wasserman Schultz. ;

Happened outside a polling place in Aventura, FL:

by Javier Manjarres

Wasserman Schultz was greeting voters and waiving her campaign signs on a street leading into the polling site and was obstructing traffic by stopping cars before they could even enter the parking area.

The police officer respectfully asked Wasserman Schultz to move onto the sidewalk as everyone else was required to do, but the Congresswoman was unhappy with not being able to campaign how she saw fit. Unnerved by the simple request from a police officer, Wasserman Schultz made a “well placed” phone call to some unknown individual in a position of authority. Five minutes later, the Aventura City Mayor came to the scene and was confronted by Debbie Wasserman Schultz and proceeded to get an earful from her as well.

Wasserman Schultz stayed about 20 minutes before she left the scene with the six or so supporters she brought with her. After the congresswoman left, one of the Democrat supporters who witnessed the whole incident confronted the Mayor and told him that what she did was “extremely inappropriate” for her to berate him in the manner she did.

It's not. DWS trounced Harrington in 2010 - 60% to 38%.

It'll take more than a few crossover votes to reverse that.

Not necessarily - anon

More people might be voting in this election versus 2010, so you have to factor those people in, not just crossovers from 2010.

I think a lot of people have had enough of her.

OK, have it your way. In 2008 she prevailed by - 77% to 22%.

Turnout in 2010 was 167,567. In 2008 it was 261,790. Looks like in heavier turnout more, not less, vote for DWS.

Win or lose, dems dumping DWS for the pub candidate - is silly stuff. She's very well regarded. A d

Where Is The Tea Party? Medicaid In JeopardyApr 29, 2011
Two years ago during the healthcare  debate, the Tea Party was passionate in their insistence that government should keep their hands off Medicaid (never mind the fact that Medicaid is government run, socialized healthcare).  Now that the Ryan plan has proposed phasing out Medicaid as we now know it for those who are 54 years old and younger, where is the Tea Party? I would think they would feel betrayed by the Republicans who ran in 2010 and promised to "protect" Medicaid. ...

Republican Protest Puts Energy Bill In Jeopardy Apr 28, 2010
By The New York Times April 24, 2010, 9:17PM John M. Broder Washington -- In a move that may derail a comprehensive climate change and energy bill in the Senate, one of the measure's central architects, Sen. Lindsey Graham, has issued an angry protest over what he says are Democratic plans to give priority to a debate over immigration policy. Graham, Republican of South Carolina, said in a sharply worded letter on Saturday that he would no longer participate in negotiations on the energ ...

Typing RaceJul 04, 2010
Thanks to the person who mentioned "Typing Race" online as a way to increase typing speed. (Can't remember what forum.) It is so fun and addictive. Maybe I am just web-illiterate but I had never heard of it before. I am re-learning to type on a Dvorak keyboard, to help my carpal tunnel, and it was sort of (very?) discouraging to be reduced to slow, hesitant typing. But Typing Race is making it so much more fun. Sometimes you get matched up against the same people on different races and the ...

Liberals Using Race CardMay 01, 2010
"The liberals that are making false accusations about Tea Partiers must stop!! This is dirty, outrageous, and wrong!! The Democrats and liberals in the media have consistently entered into a smear campaign of tactics consisting of false accusations, hateful rhetoric, and incendiary comments. One particular brand of false accusations that comes to my mind is how the liberals recently have been making charges that Tea Partiers are racists without having one iota of proof to back up their claims. ...

I Think The Left Is Obsessed With RaceFeb 10, 2015
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal responded with humor Monday when asked about the controversy over a portrait that depicts the Indian-American governor with light skin. “You mean I’m not white?” he joked at a Christian Science-Monitor breakfast. As the Republican Party looks to appeal to an increasingly less white and more ethnically diverse electorate, Jindal appears uninterested in playing up his ethnic background as he considers a 2016 presidential bid. “I think thi ...

Jim Webb Drops Out Of RaceOct 20, 2015
I was sad to hear this because I liked him. But, as usual, it's because of the DNC's push for Hillary only. If he was still in and I didn't like the Republican candidate, I might have given thought to voting for this guy.  In a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Webb said political candidates are "increasingly out of step with the people they're supposed to serve," claiming Americans also are increasingly independent -- and uncomfortable with "the extremes."  "Fo ...
