For those who don't want oil carried in pipelines, how should we get oil from the oil field to the refinery? We aren't going to give up oil - it's in anything and everything we use every moment of our life - so how do you propose we get it to the refinery so that it can be turned into gas for the car, heating fuel for our houses, and plastic for everything else?

If you aren't willing to put forth a solution, then you don't have a right to complain.

The solution is to wean this country off of fossil - fuel, but the Repubs hate that idea.

and the alternative currently to pipelines is bringing it out by rail and ask Canada how that is going. The rail line is not far from my house and also travels along many of our major rivers. Six of one, 1/2 dozen of the other. We have a lot of derailments, we are just lucky one hasn't been a crude train yet...

They voted on the Baucus amendment and the Schumer amendment and both failed to pass. I find some of the comments very interesting from both sides. The anti-monopoly laws in the US are weak. Large corporations are multi-conglomerates. Put the two together and you have companies that are "too big to fail" without taking too many people (as in jobs, personal savings, and such) down with them. So this is what I have learned. After listening about the new health insurance, this is what I know. There are 3 levels of care/cost. They are trying to get the young people to join to keep the cost down for the older people.
