IRS NOW ASKING A YES OR NO QUESTION
Posted: Jan 11, 2014
The new question on this years tax return is: "Do you have health insurance".
They will use your response in determining who to assess penalties to for noncompliance of the UNCONSTITUTIONAL Obamacare Law. ;
I was wondering the other day... - sm

...if they're planning to use all the penalty money to pay down the national debt. There will be a lot in penalties because the signup numbers are so dismal (go figure, HA!), but I don't think the penalties will ever come close to covering BO's skyrocketing multitrillion dollar debt he has incurred and is continuing to incur.

Bush incurred an enormous debt, but Obama's debt is said to exceed that of all presidents combined.

...any legislation that is put forth to require the fed to inform Americans if their ID has been stolen as a result of signing up for ACA.
P.S. The dems don't like the word Obamacare anymore. They're trying to distance themselves from the word because it may hurt them in November.

but it was very easy to find out that the bill would require weekly reporting which is somewhat redundant because this data is already being reported monthly.
One month??? - OMG...

Cantor's bill is for people to be notified within 2 days of an ID breach. Have you ever had your ID stolen? An enormous amount of damage can occur in 30 days.

I think the post about ID theft are very legit! Two reasons:
1. My very first cellphone in 1995 was cloned. I had no idea until I got the next month's bill, which was $12,000. If I had known about it immediately or within 2 or 3 days, that could have been averted. Luckily, I didn't have to pay it, but someone did. AND, my ID was NOT stolen.
2. We've all heard of LifeLock. Their ads say they will notify you within 2 days, I believe, if your ID has been compromised or stolen. If a private company can do it, why can't the Feds?
Not any legislation, just unneccessary legislation - sm

Very disingenuous on Cantor's part (as usual). If Cantor is so concerned about the Target customers having their data stolen, why isn't he putting forth legislation to protect credit card holders? He is just trying to over-burden Obamacare to cause more problems. We need to get rid of Cantor and his likes (Teaparty Republicans) who just are working to bring down the United States.

"Mr. Lincoln: A Liberal For The Ages
Hence, it's important for present-day Republicans, and especially the very conservative Tea Party faction members, to learn about Abraham Lincoln.
First, Abraham Lincoln was a liberal. One could make a strong argument that Lincoln is not only the greatest liberal reformer in U.S. history, but in all of secular human history.
Don't think Lincoln was a liberal? Then look at the record: Emancipation Proclamation in 1863.
The Tea Partiers and others of conservative outlook will then likely argue, Oh, it was just a minor change, the Emancipation Proclamation.
Do you want to know how large and consequential the Emancipation Proclamation was in 1863? Let's put it this way, if a U.S. president today, via executive power, guaranteed a $10 per hour minimum wage, a free college education or a vocation education, and free, universal health care to every citizen, that president's act would still be less sweeping a change than Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation.
The ardent Tea Partiers will then probably follow with something along the lines of, Oh, the Emancipation Proclamation wasn't that controversial of a reform. Everyone was and is against slavery.
No, everyone was not against slavery. In fact, an entire economic system was based on the use of slavery -- the Confederacy. And the Confederacy tried to both maintain and impose its system on the nation by fighting a civil war against the entire United States: the Confederacy was willing to destroy all of the Union states, if necessary, to save its cherished economic institution of slavery.
No, everyone was not against slavery. Further, more than 365,000 U.S. troops died fighting the Civil War, 1861-1865 -- the United States' greatest internal crisis -- to preserve the union of the United States and to ensure that slavery was abolished. (More than 260,000 Confederate troops also died.)
Lincoln Represented The Entire Nation
Second, Abraham Lincoln represented the entire nation, and his most serious actions were aimed at improving the lives of the oppressed and the poor. Lincoln's values and actions still rank as the greatest period of social activism in the United States. Lincoln's goal was to create a more perfect union by extending dignity to all -- to once and for all end a diabolical, brutal, and oppressive system in which humans were property, mere production instruments.
In other words, Lincoln's policies were designed for all of the people, not the just the wealthy, the privileged, or vested-interested lobbies.
Lincoln's moral courage, fortitude, and virtue are the reasons he is exalted today. It's often been said that, 'There are no saints in Protestant America, but if there ever was one, it was Abraham Lincoln.'"

Cat Question Aug 05, 2011Don't know if you remember my last posts awhile back about a stray cat we started feeding and took care, gave her shelter for the winter and she had kittens. We've taken the kittens in and adore them all. Now...here she is 3 or 4 months later, every once in awhile I'll get a glimpse of her nursing them. Vet told us milk has to be dried up before they can fix her. However, she is a stray and she has been going out walking around the neighborhood like she has ...

QuestionMar 22, 2010Okay, here is a question that I have not seen come up here. While watching news today this just crossed my mind. If the government sets an insurance rate you have to pay based upon what you make per year, do they take into account all your other bills, and that sometimes as ICs we don't get any work coming in at times, and then what they set is more than what you can afford (i.e. more money than your paycheck and you still have to pay all your bills). As ICs I'm sure ...

E-Bay QuestionNov 19, 2013Hi everyone,
