I don't think Obama passed Geography in school

Posted: Aug 7, 2013

First, at 0:23, he talks about the Olympics being held in Russia and how, "if they want to uphold the spirit of the Olympics, every judgement should be made on the track, the swimming pool, or the balance beam."  Aren't the Olympics in Russia going to be in the winter?

Second, at 3:05, he was talking about the Panama Canal being widened to accomodate super tankers could come in,"if we don't deepen our ports all along the gulf, places like Charleston, South Carolina or Savannah, Georgia or Jacksonville Florida...if we don't do that, those ships are gonna go someplace else."

Super tankers? Thought Obama wanted to get rid of fossil fuels. Isn't that what super tankers carry?

Yeah, I know. Not really funny at all.

OP, when it comes to bringing up ignorant politicians, you're in a very, very, very weak position. Remember the low educational level in conservative states? Too many voters in those states don't feel education is necessary. Heck, some here also feel it's a ruination abomination.

They can't all be as intelligent as B - Seriously

BUSHISMS

President George Bush is funny

The top stupidest things president George W Bush ever said

The term Bushism is a neologism that refers to a number of peculiar words, phrases, pronunciations, malapropisms, and semantic or linguistic errors that have occurred in the public speaking of United States President George W. Bush and, before that, of his father George H. W. Bush, a former United States president. The term has become part of popular folklore and is the basis of a number of websites and published books. It is often used to caricature the two presidents. Common characteristics include malapropisms, the creation of neologisms, and spoonerisms.

This occasional misuse of the English language in formal and public speeches has spawned several books that documenting the statements.

If you look at a map, the islands off the coast of Alaska are actually part of the state and there actually isn't much distance between the point of Wales, Alaska where the Bering Land Bridge Natural Preserve is and Big Diomede Island located near Russia in the middle of the Bering Sea.

[ In Reply To ..]
Simple as that. No one with any credibility or viability or a brain wants to run against a popular incumbent. So all the good/smart guys sat back and absorbed the carnage rather than soiling themselves more than necessary, waiting for an easier 2016.

Reps also screwed up by encouraging large voter turnout by insulting a large group of voters in restricting early voting. Florida's Scott has made an about face on that issue with his tail between his legs.

Of course, there are states still insistent on discouraging voter turnout. We'll see how that works for them considering the Reps are supposedly trying to appeal to "all Americans." The actions are what count, not the words, so... don't look good so far.

The more a group is oppressed, the stronger, louder, and more powerful they become. The American way pretty much feeds that wonderful phenomenon. If you call that fraud, I guess that's your right.

Just own it and move on.
Never said all were fraudulent. Just enough to give him the win. - Now we are all paying.

Quoting you: Thought Obama wanted to get rid of fossil fuels. Isn't that what super tankers carry?

President Obama has always had an all-of-the-above strategy on energy issues, and oil production in the U.S. grew more in 2012 than in any year in the history of the domestic industry, which began in 1859, and is surging in 2013 to new highs. In his State of the Union Address in 2012, President Obama said: "This country needs an all-out, all-of-the-above strategy that develops every available source of American energy -- a strategy that's cleaner, cheaper and full of new jobs," Obama said to rousing applause from Republicans in the House chamber.

***********************************.

If you are misinformed about policy and rush to judgment without verifying facts, doesn't that say more about you than it does about him?

[ In Reply To ..]
rest, I was pointing out that Obama wants to end fossil fuels, as does Biden so why would he even want to accommodate supertankers?

Does he plan on importing oil forever?

I am not misinformed about policy. I verify a lot of facts and the statements he made on Leno shows that he doesn't know geography and is not in tune with what is really going on in this country. Sorry, but that's a fact.

He also thinks construction workers can fill the jobs that WILL deepen the ports. Uh,uh. That's left for those who work the ports and equipment used for that type of job, usually Army Corp of Engineers ([as in New Orleans), not your every day road or bridge construction crews.

BTW, Obama acts like this is a new idea for him...believe it or not, Miami started dredging in 2011 and will be done NEXT YEAR. So...this again shows that he's not in tune with what's going on in this country.

New York and New Jersey have already done their dredging. Of course, they have to do it every couple years because they are the largest ports on the East Coast.

I don't see that either of these issues have anything to do with - geography

[ In Reply To ..]
I don't understand what winter Olympics or fossil fuels have to do with geography.
