Great news! The stock market is touching 5 year highs, the unemployment rate is 7.8%. In my area, the number of new construction permits issued is the highest in five years -- This means work for plumbers, electricans and carpenters. It means sales of appliances and furniture and carpeting. Housing values have risen 14%, car sales hit a record this Sept., 401(k)s are back where they were, interest rates are low. Some will claim things are worse now than in 2008, but it doesn't feel that way to me.

What if instead of MTs going "on strike", we all write to our bosses on the same day and ask for a raise?

Unfortunately the numbers you will hear by the press...is not the way it is. I am sill unemployed...can't collect anymore and can't find work...I am not counted. I think be it told and why is it with technology that it can't be counted the numbers would be over a third employable....are unemployed. Ask yourself the question....are you better off. I have been in the workforce since I was 14 and this is the first time I can't get work. It does not help being older. And in the transcription industry...those working are asked to take less because of VR...what did they do...forget our traning, years of experience...dedication...loyalty...

This story is one illustrates why government-controlled health care can be a dangerous thing. The doctors and the government took choice away from these parents and basically said "sorry, your child is just going to die, no tracheotomy for him."
