That said, why shouldn't the government have the same freedoms the corporations do? I sure would like to apply for the job trolling for the government--anyone with contact info let me know.

Not the political boards, there the Fox News brigade have enough willing adherents.

I am talking about so many posters on the Company and Main boards seem to be hawking the "get out of MT, it is a loser job, stop feeling sorry for yourself, it is a dying profession," ad nauseum posts (yeah, we know). All of them claiming they are former MTs who come back on to "help" us get out. Honestly, would you?

It makes me suspicious because ultimately I think the MTSOs would be more than happy to have us quit so they don't have to pay UI when they finally do fire us, since it does seem the endgame that everything is either being offshored or made into that front end stuff which means the doctor pretty much points and clicks and no transcription is necessary.

There are places that actually do pay you like a few cents a comment or something to promote something they want, I have not had the time to figure out if any MTSOs are involved, but you do wonder.

As far as paid trolls, the link below talks about how Fox News pretty much has been doing that all along and astroturfing for years.

There are always websites which support the view you want.

Obviously, some people want to believe the govt is hiring people to comment on their behalf. I was just pointing out this is certainly a thing Murdoch and his ilk have been doing for years.

Huffington Post is supposedly a left wing website, but if you read the comments they are mostly right wing comments. I don't even bother to read the comments for most major websites just because you cannot trust the source.

That's pretty much a given. MTSO trolls are - usually the "happy camper MTs".
