That's been standard practice for private insurance for years? - not an idiot

Unfortunately, not throwing out the extremes of healthiest and sickest and going with the mean average instead has been standard practice for private insurance companies for years.

In fact, I can even name you a transcription company that justified their rate increase this way in 2005 and higher deductibles. They claimed they had no choice, the insurance companies always calculate their rates this way.

So BUZZZZ, wrong answer again, Gruber. It's you who is treating us like idiots, with your little cartoons. Where were all your ethical concerns when you designed and sold the thing to both Romney and Obama?

Insurance rates, like pharmaceuticals, have not been "fair priced" for a very long time. That is why Obamacare was created, to provide competition to bring unfair rates back down. The recent rate spikes are because of Obamacare. Like oil prices, they can raise them whenever they like and blame whatever they want.

When I wrote this article, I became confused between who was speaking when, Gruber vs. the author (vs. what Gruber's saying now?).

Since then, I've read various takes on what Gruber thinks was outright deception vs. what other people think was outright deception vs. the possibility that some of this is just disagreement in legitimate economic theory vs. what Obamacare's projected outcome was vs. reality.

Too much for my wittle brain tonight, I guess time will tell. However, I have decided, unfortunately, that Nancy Pelosi straight up lied and if Obama didn't lie then, he's probably lying now. I really don't think politicians at this level DON'T lie, though, that's the saddest part of it all.

Regardless, just wanted to come back and say "I was wrong" and "I was being an idiot about reading a simple cartoon" because no one ever seems to do that here, but it may be necessary sometimes:)
