And it happens hundreds of times every year. This incident just happens to be "high-profile."
Remember: When seconds count, the police are just minutes away. Remember also that the only people who obey gun LAWS are the LAW-ABIDING.

Did you see the picture of that motel they were at...seedy. She should have been watching her back running around at night in the parking lot of that motel...any motel for that matter, but that one didn't look very good.

[ In Reply To ..]at night. I am really not very snobbery about my hotel choices, but I am VERY careful when I choose one like that. I think they chose it for the dog and it was just a quick stay over...later at night, why waste the money if you're only going to be there for a short night's sleep? I've done that, and I am very careful. I would never walk back out to my car by myself in that situation on the outskirts of a major city like that. (She also knew the guy was out there, as she had already spoken to him, he had asked her for a cigarette--once again, I would not have gone back out without someone or at least my husband watching--she could have just as easily been carried off.) I have lived on the south side of Chicago and never got mugged which is more than I can say for many of my friends, who walked with their head in the clouds, not paying attention to their situation. A little good judgment would be in order.
As to getting shot. I am glad the "right guy" won. I didn't care for the bravado, but that's part of it, I get it. And, I don't think the guy died in the parking lot, unless he managed to run that far. I think the confrontation with guns all took place in the motel room, which makes it even more justified to have shot the "bad guy."
