This is not the first time this Fox factoid has been replayed on this forum. There are numerous considerations that come into play when discussing how federal job pay grades, salary ranges, job titles, educational levels, years of experience, seniority, job descriptions, skill clusters, geographic location, cost of living disparities, etc factor into assessing pay equity between genders, age cohorts and ethnic and racial groups. Unless you are able to provide a reliable source of data that includes ALL this information, it is impossible to have a useful discussion on this. So where's your proof?
I watch CNN only.... was reported THERE! - so call them liars if you wish.nm

The salaries for the white house staff are set according to the General Schedule (US civil service pay scale). The President does not set the salaries...they are according to law by the Classification Act of 1949.
Your claim (or CNN's claim which I have searched for but not yet found that CNN made such a claim) is flawed in that if in actuality women in the white house doing the SAME job in the SAME pay grade are getting paid less (which I have yet to see documented anywhere as truth even on CNN-but if that is where you say seen it I will call them Liars) it would not be Obama's fault but the fault of the law that I mentioned above that was enacted many years before Obama was even born.
All I need to see is the votes on Lilly Ledbetter and I know who thinks I am only worth 77% of what a man is in their eyes. It passed in the House of Representatives with 247 votes in support and 171 against.[11] The vote was nearly perfectly split along party lines, with only three Republicans voting in favor (Ed Whitfield of Kentucky, Don Young of Alaska and Chris Smith of New Jersey) and four Democrats voting nay (Travis Childers of Mississippi, Dan Boren of Oklahoma, Allen Boyd of Florida, and Bobby Bright of Alabama). The Senate voted 72 to 23 to invoke cloture on S. 181 on January 15, 2009.[12] (The vote to invoke cloture ends debate on a bill, and usually leads to a final vote within a few days.) The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act passed the Senate, 61-36, on January 22, 2009. The votes in favor included every Democratic senator (except Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts, who was absent from the vote because of health issues), two independents who caucused with Democrats, and five Republican senators - Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine, Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas, and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska.[13] Specter later switched to the Democratic Party; the others include all female Republican Senators.
and the Paycheck Fairness Act.. The final vote was 52-47, with all Republicans opposing the bill. That included female Sens. Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), Susan Collins (Maine), Kay Bailey Hutchison (Texas), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Olympia Snowe (Maine).
Oh please. Obama is just a politican and hypocrite. - He doesnt care about women, just his reelection.nm

One of the biggest wage offenders for women was Bernie Sanders. Another was Sheila Jackson Lee. Both are always knocking people down to get to a camera to talk about the war on women, yet they are 2 of the biggest underpayers. Wonder why CNN, ABC, NBC, Medial Matters did not go into depth about these war on women perpetrators?

and good old Bernie was listed as the worst payer on the Hill for women. Another example of do as I say, not as I do. If you're interested in the truth, you'll have to look it up yourself. I don't do research for anyone, especially when you do, nobody believes the links, doesn't like your sources, calls you a liar, etc. P.S. Bernie never DENIED IT. Google Bernie Sanders + women's pay and pick which article you want to read.

Good question SM - perhaps they can't see not being dependent on men? - ignorance? - stupidity? - makes no sense to me. Neither does voting for Soctt Walker when he is the only governor who has a criminal defense fund. Total mystery.

Equal Pay For Equal Jobs.Oct 23, 2012 Everyone is getting their panties in a wad over the subject of this post, yet it's a waste of time. The law has been in place for years. If a woman is not getting equal pay for equal work, it's up to her to report it and has to prove it, which is hard to do, but can be done.
It's better to have a group of women like I was a part of back in the '70s. We went to court and we won, got a raise equal to the men, and got back pay for every year we were stiffed by the employer.
So ... Don't Need None Of That Equal Pay For Women. Feb 17, 2017 Perhaps single men should be paid less than married men? I cannot believe there are men like this in our state legislatures. I hope Utah wakes up to the 21st Century.
