Entitlement programs--People who support THOSE are

On that now-infamous secret recording,
He mentions the word Democrats ONCE--in the beginning.
He mentions 47% of people who don't pay federal income tax ONCE--in the beginning.
The ENTIRE rest of that criticism is about neither--Romney talks about people who support the idea of ENTITLEMENT PROGRAMS in general. He didn't just insult half the country with his disdain, he insulted by far most of us.
Some 87-88% of Americans believe SocSec and Medicare are good for the country. We want them fixed, not eliminated. Mr. Romney is ideologically opposed to both AND to the position of that 87-88% of Americans.
What ARE entitement programs? Some big ones are:
Unemployment insurance.
Social Security.
Medicare.
Veterans Benefits
Pell grants.
Food stamps.
GI Bill
Child and dependent care tax credit
Home mortgage tax credit.

I also see that when they use Social Security and Medicare monies, they are stealing our money that is supposed to be used for only Social Security and Medicare.
The definition of entitlement is...entitled. We pay SS and MC to those - and for the others thru fed/state taxes.NM

When our government takes/steals/pilfers from the funds, where does the money go from there? It just contributes to the national debt which is at $16 trillion and growing.

Yes, we are "entitled" to SS and MC because we pay into them but - backwards typist
[ In Reply To ..]we really aren't entitled to Food Stamps, etc. unless we "qualify" for them. We don't pay into a food stamp fund or others programs like we do SS and MC or else it would be an entitlement.
So, i think some of those on the list should be removed for most of the population.
