Questioned on how to control rising healthcare costs, steel worker is told that he doesn't know how to use the healthcare.gov website effectively.....seriously?

He suggested that if they at the steel plant were experiencing increases like that, they could perhaps be shopping ineffectively. He offered up one of his advisers to help with the process.

BO didn't answer the man's question. Simple. He probably doesn't know the answer to the question. But instead of telling the truth, he deflects and diverts as usual, thinking the problem, or the question in this case, will just disappear. Geez, he's really got some people snowed.

have slowed down significantly over the past 4 years, more than expected, when compared to the past 50 years. He gave stats on cost reduction for businesses, families and relative to the national debt, and talked about what to expect over the next 10 years. These answers stand in contrast to the GM's question premise that his costs are rising "by double digits" and also directly address what is being done about rising costs in terms of structural changes attributable to Obamacare, as he so fondly refers to it.

In terms of a solution, he talked about healthcare marketplace competition, national averages, how regional differences are impacted by the presence or absence of competition, and that some places are experiencing more savings than others. Then he turned his attention back to the specific situation the GM is dealing with and suggested further analysis could help him find competitive pricing. Lastly he offered him help for doing just that, since obviously, given the regional differences he had just explained, it was not possible to be more definitive until conditions in the Indiana healthcare market had been scrutinized. This answers the GM's question about what he as an individual could do bring his costs down.

The president was thorough, precise, logical, focused and had a good command of specific facts. Only those determined NOT TO HEAR the answer would call this deflection and diversion. Some people are not as easily "snowed" by the right's transparent spin on this as you seem to suspect they are. Not even a nice try.

Sounds like the cons have you pretty snowed, - judging by all the repetitive rhetoric.

Okay, here is a question that I have not seen come up here. While watching news today this just crossed my mind. If the government sets an insurance rate you have to pay based upon what you make per year, do they take into account all your other bills, and that sometimes as ICs we don't get any work coming in at times, and then what they set is more than what you can afford (i.e. more money than your paycheck and you still have to pay all your bills). One of my 2yo males has a cyst on the side of his head. I just noticed it this morning, it's about the size of a golfball and underneath his ear. Its not in his mouth. I have an insurance Marketplace question. If my income turns out to be higher than expected for 2017, will I have to pay a penalty? My family and I are selling our house and moving out of state, but our house is going to sell before we actually move, so we have to rent a house for about 6 months. So, I went to look at a house over the weekend and was amazed! For $1300 a month, it was a 3 bedroom house, very old, and a total wreck.
