Doctors Begin to Refuse ObamaCare Patients

Posted: Aug 8, 2014

"Obamacare plans have shrunk payments t physicians so much that some doctors say they won’t be able to afford to accept Obamacare coverage.  Many of the 8 million sign-ups in Obamacare exchanges nationwide already face more limited choices for physicians and hospitals than those in the private insurance market. But with low physician reimbursement rates, the problem could get even worse."

This is just ONE of many Obama headlines today.  Is anyone surprised?

This is for the poster who asked about the source. It is from The Daily Caller, which was founded by Tucker Carlson. Here's a link to the article and to the "About Page." I point this information out because I was accused the other day of only researching information from "left-wing" sources. I'm not saying, but I'm just saying . . . :)

I read this severalnother sites too. Doctors have to - hire additional staff just

to keep up with the paperwork, like Medicare.

Government controlled reimbursement rates are always less. Planned economies always end up with coercion.

Whenever socialism is imposed, not only the - producer class but the

consumer class learns very ingenious ways of getting around the government mandates.

All of a sudden patients may not be able to get appointments.

Socialism equals government-controlled economy, - and apparently many people

[ In Reply To ..]
prefer that over free market economy because they hate business so much. What they don't understand is that BIG business, Wall Street, etc. is in bed with the government. So if you love the government you must also love collaborators that make it work.

Congrats USA, you are now just like Venezuela!
The collusion of big government and big business - is actually called fascism,
[ In Reply To ..]
which is ironic because the allies of big government actually try to insult it's political enemies by calling them "fascists" when in fact it's the ideology that fascism is built on.

We do need more doctors, PAs, NPs. - Random thoughts

What kind of racket is it that we do not have enough primary care providers? So many people want a good paying job and we do not have enough medical professionals. Education cost? Self-restriction by the medical profession? I wish the MT schools would follow these practices so there would not be such a glut of MTs willing to drive the wage down more and more.

Which, perhaps we should outsource more medical services offshore. From what I understand, a lot of the radiology is already going to the Philippines. There is a lot of "telemedicine" happening. I think we need more walk-in type clinics for sore throats, all the way to a Pap smear. I read it is cheaper to fly to India for health care than get it here in the US.

If the docs had to compete a bit more for their patient's, they would not be so whiny about their pay. I do not see too many docs filing for bankruptcy or losing their homes like I see in the MT world.

I guess we should try to import more docs from overseas, too. I was reading in a newspaper recently how this company in a rural area was bringing in workers from the Ukraine because he could not hire local people at his rate of $11.30 an hour (or so). I am pretty sure he is in the realm of being a 1 or 2% rich guy, but darned if he is going to pay the locals $12.00 an hour when he can bring in the Ukrainians.

Maybe that is what these docs need, a little more competition.

BRAVA! Nicely done. - nm

I am insured through the ACA in a state that is fighting it. Not only do I have EXCELLENT choices in physicians but I just had reason to renew my policy and it got better both in benefits and in my choices of physicians. I have 4 hospitals in my area and I can be seen at any of them. I see several specialists and have not had to drive miles and miles to find 1. Some people are just going to continually try to find fault with the program. You don't cite a source though.

ACA has been a Godsend for me.

Well, there you go. This is proof that ObamaCare - is a real winner.

I wonder how long it would be until Obama writes an executive order outlawing cash only medical services, or private “health” clubs!

Doctors Required To Ask Patients About Their Sexual HistoryOct 15, 2013
It'll be a cold day in hell before I tell ovomit and his satanic HHS director Sebelius anything about my sex life.  Doctors are now required to document in the health record how many sexual partners a patient has had.  I go back and forth between saying "Oh, maybe 37,000" and "none of the F-ing government's business."  Ovomit has gone past the point of no return with his total intent on turning America into a socialist or even communist country. http://politix.topix.com ...

Obamacare Funding Running Low For Patients Feb 16, 2013
Tens of thousands of Americans who cannot get health insurance because of preexisting medical problems will be blocked from a program designed to help them because funding is running low. Obama administration officials said Friday that the state-based “high-risk pools” set up under the 2010 health-care law will be closed to new applicants as soon as Saturday and no later than March 2, depending on the state. But they stressed that coverage for about 100,000 people who are now enrolled ...

Doctors Rally Against ObamaCare In D.C.Mar 21, 2010
Wow, what an inspiration they are!  They took time out from their busy practices to rally in Washington.  This is from late last year.  At bottom of page is a COMMENT section containing comments (many of which are recent) from lots of other docs and nurses who couldn't make it to the rally. Raising The Medicare Eligibility Age Would Cost Patients About Twice As Much,Dec 06, 2012
"When economists and policymakers worry about the long-term fiscal crisis, what they’re mostly worried about is Medicare. That’s why a persistent idea during this fiscal cliff season is raising the Medicare eligibility age from 65 to 67. It’s an idea that appears superficially to have many virtues. Bringing the Medicare retirement age into line with the Social Security retirement age seems logical. The change is simple to describe to journalists and the public."  & ...
