Democratic Control of U.S. Government by L. David Roper

From 1900 - 2000: Democrats had full control for 32 years and the Republicans had full control for 23 years. The Democrats had control of both House and Senate for 22 years during Republican presidencies. The Republicans had control of both the House and Senate for 10 years during Democratic presidencies.

From 2001 - 2011 Republicans have had full control for only two years.

From Kathy E. Gill/WiredPen: Only 13 times {26} years since 1945 have both branches of Congress and the Presidency been controlled by the same party; the Democrats have held this advantage more often than Republicans {11 to 2}.

So, those of you Liberals that want to BLAME the Republicans had better face the facts, and quit believing your liberal friends. The Republicans are not the obstructionists. Wake up and smell the coffee!!! The Liberal policies don't work!!!

Republicans had TOTAL control 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 (that would be 4 fingers) then they had almost total control in 2001 and 2002 except that a Republican switched sides and gave the Senate a 1 vote Democrat majority, so add a finger (split the difference and add 1 to the previous 4 fingers). Then they had Bush Veto power in 2007 and 2008, and then Republican Fillibuster/Obstruction power in 2011 and 2012. I don't know where your person gets Republican control for only 2 years, but they had enough time to do the SEVERE DAMAGE under Bush that will take decades to recover from.
