Hastert was the one who made a point of defending William Jefferson, D-LA, when he was indicted. He's also a big amnesty shill.

Dude, I live in central Kentucky, my senators are Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul - didn't you ever wonder how such a podunk state got 2 of the biggest powerhouses in Washington?
You want to talk about good 'ole boy network and dirty local politicians and corruption, we can talk, but it'd take all day.
There used to be a national saying in the 30s and 60s that if if something wasn't level, like a wood beam or tree - "that's as crooked as a Kentucky politician".
In fact, though all of my paternal family are Republicans, his father's side were cops or sheriffs and his mothers' side were insurance salesmen and politicians.
I'm ashamed to say it, but in the 1930s, the politicians and insurance salesmen side of the family used to stand outside the voting polls with $2 and a bottle of whiskey to anyone that voted Republican.
And then my sheriff grandfather either drove them away or busted them all and helped clean up the force from all the dirty deputies on the take by the coal mining companies.
(He subsequently moved to Louisville later because that's just a problem in that area that will never go away.)
If you've ever watched the show "Justified", that's about right for that area, and coal money is big money that runs a lot more than you might think - why you think the Senators from my state are such powerhouses?
So do you really want to talk about political corruption, drug money and illegal arms being sold by many of our local politicians?
Probably not - because in my state, they're mostly Republicans.
Corruption that slips under the radar because no one suspects it of our backwoods state - but now you know how we produce some of the biggest powerhouse senators in Washington, and it ain't just horse farm, basketball and whiskey money, or even coal money, I guarantee ya;)
And still, not the state's fault nor even all politicians - some individual choices within it, and in my state, that's Republican.
Obama's DOJ instructed banks to report any withdrawals amounting to - $5000 or more, it used to be $10,000

and not just cash withdrawals, all withdrawals, and remember, any repeated transfers or withdrawals of less than $5K or $10K, are considered suspicious “structured” transactions designed to mislead law enforcement, and/or avoid taxes.
The Fed has nailed a lot of innocence people for “structuring”and confiscated entire bank accounts of businesses and individuals.

Do you have any proof whatsoever of that claim?
I can answer that for you: Absolutely not. I found that baseless claim on a few right-wing fringe websites but absolutely nowhere else. Why do you suppose that is? Because it is a lie. Time and time again, it doesn't take much looking at all to find out that those rules were put into place long before the Obama administration. The PATRIOT act also altered a lot of the rules for reporting. These laws were implemented long before Obama took office (see link, Federal Register 02-16-1996), and they actually keep records of those things for people who value truth to check out the actual facts.
Obviously it's easier to believe the right-wing fringe rags, but they're chock full of lies and misinformation, even if it does sound true and fits a person's worldview.
Truth. :)
Was something he did while he was a teacher and - wrestling coach. Not too hard to figure.

I hope they also indict the blackmailer, because it's pretty obvious this was some kind of extortion.
yeah, never mind the insidious implication - here....?????

Which is your implication. I have no idea when he did whatever he is trying to cover up.
Read the full indictment and the reportage that has - already been done.

Pay attention to the timeline, and also to the amount of money paid, which bears some witness to the nature of the "bad deeds."
Inference? Sure. Stretch? Hardly.
Looks like that "insidious implication" was right. - Apology accepted.

Dennis Kuchinich: I'm No Fan Of Trump But He Has A PointMar 10, 2017President Trump’s assertion that his phones at Trump Tower were tapped last year has been treated as hilarious—and in some circles as beyond contempt. But I can vouch for the fact that extracurricular surveillance does occur, regardless of whether it is officially approved. I was wiretapped in 2011 after taking a phone call in my congressional office from a foreign leader.
That a secret recording had been made of this call was revealed to me by the Washington Times in 2015, a full two yea ...

What Would Ronald Reagan Do?Jul 19, 2011Ronald Reagan asked Congress to raise the debt ceiling 18 times, and 18 times he got what he asked for. In Sepember 1987, he made the following statement in a radio address regarding the consequences of default:

Steele: GOP 'screwed Up' After Reagan, Won't Win In 2010Jan 06, 2010By David Edwards and Daniel TencerTuesday, January 5th, 2010 -- 12:46 pm
Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele apparently thinks the best way to ring in the New Year is to disappoint his followers.
In a TV interview Monday, Steele said the party won't be regaining control of Congress in the mid-term elections this year. And if there's a reason for that, it's that the Republicans "screwed up" after Ronald Reagan left office.
According to excerpts of his new book, ...
