Hastert reportedly sexually abused man while he was a high school wrestling coach. What We Know So Far •Dennis Hastert, the former Speaker of the House, was indicted Thursday on federal charges of evading reporting requirements and lying to the FBI. •The Illinois Republican allegedly agreed to pay an unnamed individual $3.5 million for “past misconduct” that was reportedly the sexual abuse of a man while Hastert was the Yorkville High School wrestling coach — before he won elected office. •Investigators considered adding a second alleged Hastert victim to the indictment, but chose not to do so, a source familiar with the matter told BuzzFeed News. ;

One year later, revelations about how the U.N. handled the boys' accounts have horrified people both inside and outside the world body. Statements marked "strictly confidential" have shown that its top human rights officials failed to follow up for several months on the allegations their own office had collected.

No arrests have been announced, and it's not clear where the accused soldiers, who were supporting a U.N. peacekeeping force, are now. The U.N. seems unable to say when the abuses stopped, or how long it continued to investigate.

the person that was blackmailing him is getting away with it? This only started in 2010. The statute of limitations for extorion or blackmail via the FBI charging is 5 years. So this is still under the limitation. Individual A can and should be charged.

They can't charge Hastert with whatever he supposedly did during his school years becasue that time has definitely run out but there are too many questions about all this.

1. If this happened when he was a school teacher between 1965-1981, why did "Individual A" wait until 2010 (after Hastert was no longer in Congress) to blackmail him? His career could have been ruined when he was serving in Congress. Odd, isn't it?

2. Bail is only set at $4500? Isn't that low for someone like him? Odd, isn't it?

3. Why didn't he just come forward in the very beginning and tell the truth to the FBI letting them handle the problem? He was no longer in Congress so the only thing it would have done was tainted his reputation, as it's doing now. If he had come forward immediately, it may have stayed hush-hush knowing the government.

None of it makes sense. Then there's the phone call he got on Washington Journal when is was on that show was eerie and sick.

Is this just revenge by that individual after getting 4 years of free money? Something is really fishy with this whole story.
