I love the way this adninistration has tunnel vision where people are concerned. They don't give a rat's patootie if people lose their jobs. They only want to kill fossil fuel and IT'S A KNOWN FACT that the U.S. has done MORE to eliminate carbon from the earth than every 3rd world country, plus Russia with China being the #1 polluter.
Don't you think they should at least take a look at the statistics? This institute has been studying this subject since at least 2011.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) plans to regulate carbon dioxide emissions from power plants will cost America’s economy over $50 billion a year between now and 2030, according to a new report issued by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for 21st Century Energy.
The report, Assessing the Impact of Potential New Carbon Regulations in the United States, estimates the economic impacts associated with an EPA regulatory regime imposed under Section 111 of the Clean Air Act and based on the Obama Administration’s emissions reduction goals.
“Americans deserve to have an accurate picture of the costs and benefits associated with the administration's plans to reduce carbon dioxide emissions through unprecedented and aggressive EPA regulations,” said Karen Harbert, president and CEO of the Energy Institute. “Our analysis shows that Americans will pay significantly more for electricity, see slower economic growth and fewer jobs, and have less disposable income, while a slight reduction in carbon emissions will be overwhelmed by global increases.”
The analysis found that EPA’s potential new carbon regulations would:
-Lower U.S. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by $51 billion on average every year through 2030
-Lead to 224,000 fewer U.S. jobs on average every year through 2030
-Force U.S. consumers to pay $289 billion more for electricity through 2030
-Lower total disposable income for U.S. households by $586 billion through 2030
With global carbon emissions expected to rise by 31% between 2011 and 2030, the Energy Institute’s analysis found that EPA regulations would reduce this overall emissions level by just 1.8 percentage points.

I love the way this administration has tunnel vision where people are concerned also. It's refreshing for a change to see an administration that cares about the health of its nation. Would it surprise you to know that the "Energy Institute" that put out that study is an affiliate of the largest lobbying group in the country, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce? Sounds like a government agency, right? Might they have a hidden agenda for a study such as this? Actually it's not even hidden. It's the Keystone XL Pipeline, pet project of the Koch Brothers (their father set up oil refineries in Stalin's U.S.S.R.).

The Kochs want to pay less tax, keep more profits and be restrained by less regulation, and they've thrown mega bucks into right wing organizations in order to dupe millions into supporting big business. The brothers' political wrangling is less about what's right for our country and more about what's right for their wallets, and their interests have very little to do with ours. Oh, I guess it'd be great for the brothers Koch and others if the government just left them alone and maybe even rolled back current regulations on the polluters and let big business have its way with the environment, but then again, maybe the government has learned from the mistakes of other nations and actually considered the consequences and weighed the choices:
Runaway Industry vs. Breathable Air?
Ask 20 million people in China how great it is to live in a country where the interests of big business are placed above theirs and they can't go outside without choking on fumes and they're warned by their government to stay inside because the air is so toxic that it's not safe to breathe.
For as much as they are accused of being communists by the extreme right wing of the opposition, clearly this administration and President Obama have seen the communist model on this issue and have rejected it.
