Nice to know that if still unemployed, I whould qualify for Medicaid (can't get it currently), as opposed to no coverage at all. If employed at income levels of previous job, cost of private coverage is still prohibitive, but on the exchange, it would be less than I paid for employer plan.
I also like the idea that I would not be forced to restrict my job search to those employers who offer insurance, so it would broaden my job prospects pool.
Tried but it only give single adult or family of 4, I'm neither - Backwards typist

Senate Fails To Pass Modest Gun Control Bills. NmJun 21, 2016
WASHINGTON -- Just over a week after the worst mass shooting in American history, the Senate failed Monday to advance a pair of modest and popular gun violence reform measures.
One would have barred gun sales to anyone who has been on a terrorist watch list in the previous five years or who is "reasonably" suspected of posing a terrorist threat. Another would have tightened the background check system to cover the so-called gun show loophole and all internet gun sales. About 90 ...

Employment, Bills, Bills, Bills!Mar 05, 2010My husband and I need all the prayer we can get. I have been out of work for a year now due to outsourcing. He returned from a year long deployment in Iraq last July and has been looking for employment and found a job that is now not working him and his unemployment ran out right before that and now they are saying he cannot file for unemployment again because that would be considered quitting the job he has now although he has not worked in 3 weeks! House Leaders Plan Separate House VoteMar 20, 2010Democrats edged closer to finding 216 lawmakers to back a landmark health-care bill Saturday, as party leaders and White House officials were working on an executive order that they hope will win over a substantial number of antiabortion Democrats.

Civil Rights Bills Passed ForAug 21, 2017Food for thought:
“I maintain that every civil rights bill in this country was passed for white people, not for black people. For example, I am black. I know that. I also know that while I am black I am a human being. Therefore I have the right to go into any public place. White people don’t know that. Every time I tried to go into a public place they stopped me. So some boys had to write a bill to tell that white man, “He’s a human being; don’t stop him." That bill was for the whit ...

Cost Of Getting Braces Going UpJan 11, 2013Obamacare Medical Device Tax: As of Jan.1, Obamacare imposes a new tax of 2.3 percent on medical device manufacturers, including those who make dental braces. The tax is imposed on gross sales -- even if the company does not earn a profit in a given year. While the tax will be paid to the IRS by the manufacturer, the tax will be passed along as a higher cost of the product, ultimately to be borne by the parent buying the braces for their child. With the cost of braces being as high as $7,625 ...

Tea Party Could Cost Republicans In CensusApr 06, 2010By John ByrneMonday, April 5th, 2010 -- 9:00 am
Republicans were thrilled when Tea Party-backed Scott Brown won a special election to capture Ted Kennedy's Senate seat in Massachusetts.
But they're not quite as thrilled with the Tea Party now. Angst at the government in power may fuel some conservatives to boycott the US census, costing their party coveted seats in Congress for years to come. Republicans could also lose seats in state legislatures if districts are redrawn.

The Cost Of Obama's Regulatory ExplosionJan 30, 2013Double the cost of 16 years under Bush and Clinton.
By JEFFREY H. ANDERSON
As Adam White discusses in detail, there’s nothing moderate or incremental about the increase in federal regulations — and hence in centralized executive power — under President Obama. To the contrary (as White notes), according to figures published by the Obama White House (see table 2-1), the costs of regulations issued by this administration have dwarfed the costs of regulations issued by prior admini ...
I Think The Cost Of Birth Control Is A Problem For Jul 01, 2014I know when I was young and needed it most people actually had some money left over to pay for stuff like that after your essentials came out - can any of us MTs honestly say we could afford birth control today if we had to use it?
And we are not the only ones who have been victims of corporations lowering and lowering your pay while prices in the real world went up and up.
I do think free contraception is a good thing. Contraception stops unwanted pregnancy = prevents abortion.
