Obama is a "real" person. Romney is an empty suit, nothing but a pampered little rich boy who has no clue what life is like for the bulk of Americans.

I thought Obama gave a great speech, as always.

But go ahead and laugh now, cuz November 7th I suspect you will be crying, and it won't be for joy.

Both you and he apparently think that being a good Pres is - about giving good speeches.

Speech, schmeech. Hitler gave great speeches, from what I've been told. On the other side of the Channel, so did Churchill. In the end, it was a difference in leadership that mattered, wasn't it?

You need to learn how to do some critical thinking and not be such unbelievably easy pickings for clever deceivers like Obama.

That's the problem. His speeches are the direct opposite of what he practices.

....yeah, my Michigander GOP brother couldn't stand her. I didn't see her speech last night but saw a little clip on the news today. Oh, dear....she seemed very effusive and excited. :-o I've liked her when I've heard her interviewed on talk shows.

They said on the news I saw today that her speech may have been the DNC's Clint Eastwood appearance. :-D

I'm the one who posted just above you here. Now that you mention Howard Dean, from the little clip I saw of Jennifer Granholm, I think that's a much better comparison. :-)

I'm a Democrat and actually have liked her whenever I've seen her interviewed on talk shows. I just got a kick out of thinking about Clint Eastwood's performance again. :-D I guess the people who are saying this are just wanting to say, "See, we both had some negatives." I didn't see Granholm's speech, so I can't judge....I guess I need to find it on-line.

At lunch time, I heard that one of the reactor's rods are fully exposed. The other two are still only partially exposed. They are still working furiously on trying to keep the rods cool. Well, I thought the President basically lacked passion last night. Nothing he said was with conviction like we've seen in the past. I did not find him believable. The only positive thing I really heard was that he seemed to acknowledge that the economy had not improved during his 5 years in office and he wanted the CEOs of the country to pay their people more money (obviously, I'm paraphrasing here). My hubby just recently switched back to 12-hour night shifts. Lately I have been putting a sticky note on the doorbell during the day that says, "Please do not ring doorbell until after 2 p.m." The other day I was told that this was rude by a neighbor. I have to say I do not like debates. It seems to me that the broad audience of the American public has developed this "blood lust" akin to a boxing or wresting match or some Superbowl event. How can someone say that this person won on style, and this one on memorization of facts and figures and then vote for them? How does that relate to them being president, or one heart beat away?
