ACA Poll-deleted. done with this board of opinionated people

Posted: Dec 10, 2013

Perhaps when they are affected as I have been, they will understand.

I know I am in a negative place with it - and I simply was trying to find out others experiences.  I am glad there are positives, I truly am.  My question was not intended to be "loaded" or "cause decisiveness" ....

Peace, over and out ... live on thinking you guys know everything.  At least I asked and was willing to consider/believe something different than I feel/think.

Absolutely no change because of ACA - sm

I give my PPO a 9. I wish it covered everything but I still have office co-pays of $15.00. It is provided to my family through my husbands work policy. I am really glad the exchange is there if something were to happen and he lost his job. We both have pre-existing conditions and could not be denied coverage.

If your plan was so great, why did you change?

A tip for you - Leading questions
[ In Reply To ..]
If you truly started this to see how people are fairing, then do not ask loaded questions such as "Did your insurance premiums go up or down with ACA." You are making an assumption that ACA was the cause of their increase or decrease. That is a warning bell that you are actually trying to be argumentative, not looking for a true response. Then on your satisfaction scale, you were again trying to cause divisiveness.

Perhaps that is why hardly anyone bothered with your survey.

I shared below how my health insurance had been affected, not much. We were also told to expect about the same in 2014. My employer is large enough to have self-insured status and we have a large network of providers. Out of curiosity, I compared rates on my state's health insurance exchange. I'm middle income so don't qualify for any subsidies but I could still get an affordable plan from the middle tier. I think this discussion was started by the OP to shed negative light on the ACA but most of the responses (so far anyway) have been positive.

1. Premium. Stayed the same although employees pay a portion of the premium depending on the plan they choose. In 2014 I will be paying $130 per month. They also offer a less expensive plan for the employees but the coverage is not as good.

2 and 3. PPO. $750 deductible, $20 copay for office visits in-network, $30 for out of network, copays on prescription drugs, some generics are free. I don't remember the copays for ER or hospital stays and I don't remember the max out of pocket. There is some vision coverage and dental is fully paid. I am single. This is a new plan for us, it changed in 2013. We did not have vision coverage before but now we do. The deductible went up, it used to be $400.

I would give it a 7 or a 8. I do need to add that I don't work for an MTSO.

Thanks for the info! - no message

This Is A Poll Only, Not To Have People BickeringFeb 24, 2014
I am too old and too tired to continue to fool with this mess. I have over the past 3 years had my debit card and my credit card (both with BOA) shut down completely. Yesterday I got email stating my credit card because of "possible fraud" on the account. I am never called, just shut down and I have to go to the bank, get new debit and lots of frustration for me. I shopped at Christmas close by my home and had the debit shut down, without notifying me first, because it was a store I "didn't ...

New Poll. Among College Educated White People Trump Is Now...Aug 04, 2016
polling 25-30 percentage points behind Clinton.  Quite the convention bump!    It's over people!  Trump has finally pounded the final nail into his own coffin.  He has no one to blame but himself.  Even republicans are crossing over in big numbers and encouraging others to do so. ...

CNN Poll Shamefully Skewed. De-skew The Poll And It'sSep 11, 2012
The campaign to mislead the public, discourage conservative voters, etc. is underway, full bore. Do NOT believe ANY polls.  Think for yourself - and VOTE, regardless of any polls that might suggest that Obama has this sewn up.  The DNC had a disastrous convention and they're also trying to make that look like the best thing since conventions began. (You can tell from the desperation of his campaign strategy that HE knows he doesn't have it sewn up.) ...

Do you people who frequent this politics board know how lucky you are to be able to express your thoughts on politics?  Not mentioning any names of the political MT forum where I usually hang, but if the kind of behavior that went on here, went on over there, there would be no one left to post.  Y'all act like a bunch of babies.  It is possible to disagree without insulting each other left and right just because of what party you are affiliated with, then running to the princ ...

What Will Be Deleted.Oct 27, 2014
After the voting post went bust, I decided to take the best suggestions from those that contributed and that's what we're going with. It seemed pretty unanimous that you have to have a "thick skin" to come to this board and most posters were okay with tpub and commie staying - even though everyone disagrees on the equality of both words.  I'll allow both to stay as long as they're not being used as direct insults to specific posters - those will be deleted, as well as a ...

I Have Deleted The PostAug 31, 2012
Not ONCE since I've come on this board have I hijacked anyone's thread, called anyone names, called any POLITICIAN an unkind name or treated anyone with less than courtesy and respect. I create posts that I think are interesting or will encourage an adult, respectful exchange of information.  And there was certainly nothing in this one to warrant the responses that ensued.  I don't engage in the flaming tactics and I would appreciate it if my posts weren't used for ...

I have just deleted an entire thread of a message talking about hate and racism directed towards one party.  I do not want to believe a poster posted just to get an argument going with name calling of the other side, but that is what the entire thread turned into. Whether or not you agree with the other party, please try and refrain from posting just so people can argue, call others racists, haters, biggots, and try and "teach the other side a lesson". I'm sure I will get a lot of fl ...

I Just Deleted A Post - Wanted To Let You KnowFeb 24, 2013
I wanted to be the first to tell you I just deleted a post per the OPs request.  It was the one of MO dancing on a TV show.  I felt there were a lot of good postives and well thought out replies by posters, but the OP emailed me and requested that it be removed. I just wanted to let you all know I would have left it up, but it was her request for me to remove it.  I did not want anyone to think I was censoring any posts. Thank you, Moderator ...

Has Anyone Here Permanently Deleted Their FB Account?Jan 07, 2015
I'm thinking of deleting my account.  This isn't due to any kind of drama or anything like that.  I only use my facebook to communicate with family and a few friends in other states and to share pictures and updates about our kids and family.  I'm sure part of me will miss that, but I am considering deleting it.  I often go to it expecting to spend 10 minutes at most, and an hour goes by.  Any advice?  Thanks in advance! :) ...

I did this little survey poll on favorite cookies. To keep it simple, there were 2 families, both with 5 kids, called the Blue family and the Red family.
