I have just deleted an entire thread of a message talking about hate and racism directed towards one party. I do not want to believe a poster posted just to get an argument going with name calling of the other side, but that is what the entire thread turned into.

Whether or not you agree with the other party, please try and refrain from posting just so people can argue, call others racists, haters, biggots, and try and "teach the other side a lesson".

I'm sure I will get a lot of flack from removing the post, but every post was just accusing the other side of something and it was getting very nasty, therefore made the decision to remove the post where it began.

By the way, you were quite right in not wanting to believe I posted to get a racist argument going. I was unhappy to see others turn it that direction immediately. Because it wasn't about that. It was about us.

UNDERSTANDING how and why we behave as we do politically is a good thing.

The message was simply to state that conservatives are full of hate and anger, and have no education, don't understand issues, and are racist, but liberals? They are just trying to understand why conservatives are hateful. Yet some of the most hateful posts including the article you posted is the biggest bunch of hate and **** I have seen ever.

Who are you to try and "teach" us how to behave politically. It is not your place. I agree with the other posters who said it was only posted to get an argument going and try and make it look as though liberals are above conservatives.

It was a hate piece directed at one political group (the one you don't agree with) and I'm with the moderator for removing it.

Lets try and not come on board to "analyze" the other side, while never pointing the faults in your own party.

Kudos to moderator for doing what she felt was right.

I think you have to look to yourself and your own preferences. Look at your post. It is filled with language like: "hate and anger", "biggest bunch of hate and **** I have ever seen", "hateful posts", "only posted to get an argument going".

You make allegations that, to my eye, represent "false allegations of hate" - something the moderator recently identified as "not tolerated".

If you're allowed to say hate, am I allowed to say bully?

that PEOPLE (nothing about party) are hard-wired to take a dislike to smaller groups. It could be a group of Girl Scouts. A smaller group of elementary school teachers. A smaller group of people waiting for a plane.

The finding is that being part of a SMALLER group in itself causes people to dislike its members irrationally and against all evidence.

Aimed at calling republicans haters. Even a poster clarified that when she said the article is to try and explain why republicans hate.

There was no other purpose for the article except for some liberal to try and elevate liberals over conservatives, calling conservatives haters and racists.

today, stating that he didn't "see any way of bringing an immigration bill to the floor" unless it has a majority of the majority support? Some would call it unconstitutional since it is the WHOLE House on which our Founding Fathers bestowed power, not to any given Speaker of the House or majority caucus. Then again, substantial numbers would call this behavior straight-up bigotry without hesitation. Take Latinos, for example. Some (not all) have plainly stated if immigration reform fails, they will blame GOP BIGOTRY (see link). This is not that much of a stretch, considering that, theoretically, those GOP pols in the House were elected to represent their party's interests. I mean, why else would they be behaving this way, ESPECIALLY after their disastrous miscalculations relative to significance of minority voters when predicting 2012 election outcomes?

To be clear, I am NOT posting this to start arguments, foment hate, name call or any other such nonsense. I am posting this because bigotry, racism, hate speech, hate groups, etc., are all perfectly viable subjects discussed 24/7/365 within the context of political rhetoric. That some partisans find these facts of American political life offensive is not my concern. What is my concern is the notion that we should somehow tread lightly around these topics and/or risk being deleted or banned for daring to bring them up in the first place. There's a name for that kind of editing. It's called censorship.

The deleted post was an academic study. An appropriate response would have been GOP posting studies and data that counters the ideas set forth in that study. I guess it was a whole lot easier to simply launch another juvenile name-calling extravaganza, then go whining to an all-to-complicit moderator begging for removal when that didn't turn out the way they wanted it to.

If you don't think that politics plays a role in your career, whether you work for yourself, in house, or for an MTSO, you're mistaken. IMO, thinking that it does not is one of the major reasons for this line of work going down the toilet. Being blissfully unaware - while a much easier route than paying attention and getting involved - is not in anyone's best interest.

While not discussing religion or politics at the office is a good rule if you want to avoid in-office friction and/or getting fired, not discussing politics at all is not a wise move. None of us here are employed by MTStars, so it's more than appropriate to discuss politics on this board.

there are multiple accusations of hate on this board. You have even spoken about the how "false allegations of hate" will not be tolerated. Taking note of where these posts originate would shed some light on this pattern.

The latest game on the board is to rebut posts by making false claims of hate. It's all over the board and it's ridiculous. We all see it. I would post links, but I perceive that as dangerous to my posting privileges.

I'm thinking of deleting my account. This isn't due to any kind of drama or anything like that. I only use my facebook to communicate with family and a few friends in other states and to share pictures and updates about our kids and family. I am in the process of cleaning up the board. I have not finished yet. I have been deleting posts from all sides (that is both conservative and liberal). Stop insulting/ridiculing posters.
