hysteroscopy recovery time

My best friend (28 yo, 2 kids), is having a hysteroscopy tomorrow morning. She plans on going back to work at 4 p.m. that same afternoon. I'm telling her she probably won't be up to this, but she insists she has to go to work. Has anyone had this done and can you tell me how you felt afterward? I know we type these all the time, but I don't know has soon you feel back to yourself afterward.... TIA!!

[ In Reply To ..]I had a hysteroscopy and D&C back in 2005, I believe it was, for abnormal menstrual periods (I was 30 at that time - no kids). I had it late in the morning under full anesthesia, and honestly immediately afterwards and the rest of the day I felt pretty good. Looking back, it was probably because I still had the anesthesia in my system! I remember calling my work (still worked in-house at a local clinic) and telling them I would be in the next day. The next day I didn't feel good at all! Lots of cramping and light bleeding. I ended up calling work and telling them I would NOT be coming in! However, by the second day I felt pretty much back to normal with just light bleeding, which I had for about a week afterwards. Of course, everybody is different, but that was my experience. I really don't think it would be wise to return to work the same day as you just never know how you're going to feel. I wish your friend good luck! :)
