What do these things have to do with Katrina?

3) the Afghanistan Security Forces Fund; (4) the Iraq Security Forces Fund; (5) the Iraq Freedom Fund; (6) the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Fund

After further reading, it looks like there are about a million and one things wrapped up in that bill. It might be my reading comprehension though, so if anyone wants to take a crack at it, have at it.

This "Katrina" bill happens to mention Afghanistan 14 times.

This measure was never called the Katrina Recovery Act. - In fact, guess who sponsored

the bill by that name back in 2006. Next time you want to post the president's Senate voting record on Katrina-relates issues, it would be a good idea to take a look at it first.

SB 1630: National Emergency Family Locator Act

SB 1638: Hurricane Katrina Emergency Health Workforce Act of 2005

SB 1685: A bill to ensure the evacuation of individuals with special needs in times of emergency.

SB 1770: S.1770 : Hurricane Katrina Fast-Track Refunds for Working Families Act of 2005

SB 2319: Hurricane Katrina Recovery Act of 2006. Establishes within the Executive Office of the President the Office of the Hurricane Katrina Recovery Chief Financial Officer to be responsible for the efficient and effective use of federal funds in Hurricane Katrina recovery.

Sometimes the "Save the Starving Babies bill" one's congressman is bragging about supporting was even a total fake meant to keep a real one from being passed. Or maybe there were no starving babies in the first place, but there was a law getting in the way of paving a swamp...
