Not sure where to turn with this. My sister suffered a fall a year and a half ago with many broken bones and a moderate head injury. She was in the hospital and rehab for months and came home. She seemed to be doing better but apparently will never work in her chosen profession again, which is sad b/c she was very bright. She has several cognitive deficits and is extremely depressed about not being able to work. She had her own business and a great deal of her self esteem was tied to her profession. She and her husband do not need her income, but she wants to contribute and wants to regain her self confidence and self esteem. I haven't done any work with neuro rehab, so my question is this: To whom do you turn to help you determine what your cognitive deficiencies are, to try and improve those deficits if you can, and then determine what occupation/hobbies you can do with what you have? She has been through physical therapy and can now walk, etc, but her life (and my BIL's life) is in shambles. I really want to help as they are both overwhelmed and despondent and really can't seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Any ideas? Any experience with this? Thanks in advance.
