Adding insult to injury

Posted: Dec 7, 2012

It seems that the collection agencies are now outsourcing their work to India, too. First, they took our jobs and now they are calling us asking why we can't pay our bills. What will they do when they can't call us because our phones are turned off? This country has gone to c**p.

;

Makes you wonder - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
what our politicians are thinking. What will they do when less people are paying taxes into the system and THEY have to take a pay cut???

yeah! like that will ever happen! - they come first and they have

[ In Reply To ..]
the balls to say we are a gimme gimme society and want everything handed to us free...well, they should really look in the mirror, because they are worse than the general public. They don't want to give up anything to help the economy or our country. They vote themselves raises every year it seems and our pay decreases, and yet they say it is our fault the country is in debt. Seems like they are the ones with their hands out going gimme gimme gimme. ugh. (sorry, just had to let it out!)

They shouldn't be paid at all! You can't even get - into office unless youre a millionaire.

Why would someone dislike this post - ??

[ In Reply To ..]
Are the Indians here, too?

weird...maybe they didn't like - the word

[ In Reply To ..]
c**p who knows why anybody dislikes any posts. i sort of wish they had never added that "feature." causes more hard feelings than the words themselves.

What I would say if one of the dot-heads called - me about being behind in my bills:

[ In Reply To ..]
Indian: Why are you unable to pay the bill?

Me: So why are you able to pay YOUR bills?

Indian: Because I have a job, and I work hard.

Me: Well, there you have your answer. The job you have used to be MY job.

Indian: So when may we expect payment?

Me: When H*LL freezes over.

So what you're saying is.. - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
You used to be a bill collector? Funny, thought you were an MT.

In addition, you would refuse to pay a bill that you OWE to someone because that someone had to use a collection agency to collect the MONEY YOU OWE, and that collection agency happens to offshore work?

Wow.

Learn to read between the lines, and not takes things - at face-value. To do so shows ignorance.

On really now - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
Because calling a person a dot-head, and blaming them for your own personal lack of income shows Mensa-level cognitive function.

Oh yeah, not to mention the really high standard of ethics and morals displayed by refusing to pay the debt anyway.

Careful there, you're just so sharp you might cut yourself.
Yes, really now. - nm

Ignorance...? - bshel
[ In Reply To ..]
Thanks for the morning laugh. I have been taught NOT to read between the lines. They way you stated makes me think you always read between the lines. That can't be easy for you.
Whoever taught you not to read between the lines did - you no favor, taught you to accept things blindly.

Makes no sense..... - bshel
[ In Reply To ..]
Oooooh, so always read between the lines. Never pay attention to what information is there because, you know, there is always a hidden agenda, always someone trying to get you. I call that paranoia.

I really cannot stand race- and nation-based namecalling - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
it's unnecessary, unmitigated, bias-informed hate speech.

Extremely racist derogatory term. Should be deleted - IMO (nm)

I'm sure they say the same about us. - ;p
[ In Reply To ..]
I doubt that -- but what if they did? - two wrongs don't make a right
[ In Reply To ..]
It's good to have your own moral compass. I don't need to know what other people do or say to determine what I think is right or wrong.
I'd be surprised if they think about us at all - grits
[ In Reply To ..]
...if they even know we exist. I doubt they're all over there rubbing their hands in glee over sticking it to the Americans. They're probably just busy making their line count and living their lives.
What would they call us? (nm) - please respond

And the rest of us cant stand holier-than-thou's who - very likely dont practice what they preach.

[ In Reply To ..]
I'm holier than thou...? - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
because I don't call other people names based on their nationality or race? You don't know me. I practice what I preach. I don't believe in abusive behavior, and I don't suffer fools gladly.
In your own mind, perhaps. - nm

What it is - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
It's not holier-than-thou.

To be appalled by bigotry is not being holier-than-thou, it's being normal and decent.
Nice deflection. - grits

If you don't want to be called out for ignorance at best and racism at worst, then try not to post things that are ignorant and racist.

Dot-Heads... - bshel

[ In Reply To ..]
That is uncalled for. I would ask you to think about what people could call you and how that makes you feel. I don't know why anyone would use inflammatory speech to get their point across. It does, in fact, lessen your message because, it is hard getting past the sticks and stones thing. Also, MM is the reason they have the work, not the Indian population. They lucked into it because they will take anything to work. I have had lean times and know how that feels. Anyway, just the way I see it.

Well-said. - grits

It's like the kids say (or used to say, I'm tragically un-hip) - don't hate the player, hate the game.

Bummer. No love lost here, when our livelihood is - wiped out by their taking it away.

[ In Reply To ..]
Here is the bottom line, like it or not... - bshel
[ In Reply To ..]
"They" are not responsible for getting our jobs. "They" were hired by the company you and I work for. Our company is the one you should place responsibility on. No love lost is still not a reason to dislike others. There has been way too much of that.
Get back to us next time one of your company's off- - shore techs mucks up your computer.
[ In Reply To ..]
To the tune of $800 to go out and buy a replacement.
Good idea..... - bshel
[ In Reply To ..]
Again...that is MModal's fault to use this person. If an American worker was to muck up my computer, and OH they have, I blamed whomever supervised that employee. It happens here too. It just makes it sting worse to be done by off shoring.

Way to be a bigot. - Embarrassing.

[ In Reply To ..]
Horrible.

The easiest way to deal with - that

[ In Reply To ..]
is to pay your bills.

If you can't afford it, don't go into debt to get it.

hey, my balances are from paying bills due to NJA - no frivolous spending here. NM

Uh-huh. Sure I'll pay my bills. As soon as that money - tree I planted & watered comes to fruition.

You have got to be kidding me! I suspect your hatred isn't exclusive to this subject, but many, many others probably. By the way, this message looked like something my grandchildren would do.

Chiropractor InjuryApr 02, 2014
Anyone ever heard of someone being seriously injured by a chiropractor? Friend is paralyzed on one side after having something done by a chiropractor and immediately felt a "zing" down his spine and then could not walk.  I am wondering if he was injured or this is a coincidence.  Thought I would ask here to see if anyone had ever done a report on a person damaged dramatically by chiropractic.   ...

Question About Head Injury RehabMay 25, 2012
Not sure where to turn with this. My sister suffered a fall a year and a half ago with many broken bones and a moderate head injury. She was in the hospital and rehab for months and came home. She seemed to be doing better but apparently will never work in her chosen profession again, which is sad b/c she was very bright. She has several cognitive deficits and is extremely depressed about not being able to work. She had her own business and a great deal of her self esteem was tied to her pr ...

Anyone Have An Idea How To Wear Glasses With A Nose Injury?Oct 20, 2010
Yesterday, my husband was grinding the rust off a metal lawn mower deck. The grinder caught on a piece of metal and in a flash, bouced up, hit his safety goggles and knocked them and his glasses to the top of his head and took a little chunk from the side of his nose (thankfully did not hit his eye) right where the nose piece sits about 1 inch, plus gave him 'road rash' on the tip. He's having trouble wearing his glasses. We have tried everything we can think of to make ...

Harry Reid Won't Rule Out Suing Exercise Equipment Maker Over His InjuryJan 22, 2015
Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Thursday made his first public media appearance since an exercise mishap left him with a severely injured eye and four broken ribs. Reid had been working out with resistance bands in his new home earlier this month when one snapped, injuring his right eye and flinging him into a file cabinet, he said. The Nevada Democrat said he expected to be back to full speed soon, and that he planned to run for re-election. But while he was certain about his el ...

Insult Or ComplimentJun 07, 2010
I am a 51 year old woman.  I take care of myself and I appreciate that my husband thinks I am attactive.  What galls me are things like this:  Today at my zumba class a young man came over to try to talk to me.  I was doing my best to escape without much conversation, but he wants me to know that he's "into older women" and I look good for a "woman my age"...  Out having a drink with a friend, we get approached by these boys that look like we should be babysitting ...
