Cancer

Posted: Sep 7, 2013

I just had an ultrasound and a biopsy the other day for postmenopausal bleeding. The doctor said he had to test for cancer of course. I found out by many sources that cancer cannot live in your body if your pH balance is over 7.1. So I thought I would share some of this with you. Cancer cannot survive in an alkaline body, which is pH over 7.1. Keep your pH balance over 7.1 by eating these alkaline foods. Of course, the ultimate goal is balance. Eating too many alkalizing foods can lead to its own fair share of complications over time, but the risk of this is seemingly less likely, given the current sorry state of today's highly addictive consumerist diet. To combat the effects of such a diet, here are six of the most alkaline-forming foods to work into your everyday meals: 1. Root vegetables Due to the healing "yang" nature of these foods in traditional Chinese medicine, and their tendency to be more rich in minerals than many other vegetables, it may be safe to say that you can't get enough of them. Look for radishes especially (black, red or white), as well as beets, carrots, turnips, horseradish and rutabaga. Ready to eat after steaming for just 15-20 minutes, root vegetables will help you feel both satiated and better grounded. 2. Cruciferous vegetables These are the veggies we all know and love, made even more delicious with just a small amount of healthy, homemade sauce like pesto. Choose from broccoli (yum), cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts and the like. 3. Leafy greens These include kale, Swiss chard, turnip greens (yum) and spinach (to me, raw organic baby spinach in your salad is better) - of which spinach may in fact be the best pick. Known especially for its rich vitamin K and folate content, spinach is also packed with vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, antioxidants and fiber, helping to improve digestion and even vision. 4. Garlic A true miracle food, garlic appears at the top of innumerable lists of foods that encourage overall health, and alkaline-forming food is no exception. Among its other benefits are its ability to promote cardiovascular and immune health by lowering blood pressure, cleansing the liver and fighting off disease. (I make garlic spaghetti once in a while, using the vegetable pasta noodles, olive oil (you can always add more than you think), and I cut up fresh garlic in small slices and warm it up in the olive oil, but never ever brown it or let it turn color, only long enough to soften it. I actually cook some asparagus or spinach, Then I mix it all with my pasta noodles). Salt and whatever you want to season it. Sprinkle the top with Romano cheese. Or garlic powder, olive oil, pasta noodles and add shrimp and some greens on the side). 5. Cayenne peppers (capsicum) As part of a family of potent, tropical peppers which contain enzymes essential to endocrine function, cayenne is among the most alkalizing foods. It is known for its antibacterial properties and is a rich supply of vitamin A, making it a helpful agent in fighting off the harmful free radicals that lead to stress and illness. 6. Lemons Lemons may be the most alkalizing food of all. As a natural disinfectant, it can heal wounds while also providing potent and immediate relief for hyperacidity and virus-related conditions, as well as coughs, colds, flu and heartburn. Lemon also works to energize the liver and promote detoxification. (I buy real lemons and squeeze a half a lemon in my tall glass of water). So it can't hurt to think twice about what's on your plate at your next meal, but not doing so might. Just applying that age-old motherly advice to "eat your vegetables" can be a solid first step in achieving better health. very interesting - thanks!

The lemon as a disinfectant sounds painful if it's used on an open wound. Ouch! Or do you mean that by adding lemon juice to water and drinking it, the wound will heal?

Do EXACTLY as your doctor recommends. It is your best chance to beat this thing. That being said, of course, a nutritious diet, is an excellent idea. But be careful, because that nutritions diet might not be a good one for you. Discuss your nutrition with your doctor. However, keep in mind, that when you are in chemo, your doctor is not going to want you eating a lot of "raw" food because of the danger of picking up intestinal bugs, plus he is not going to want you to be losing weight, even if you are overweight to start with. So you will need to eat when you can and you should eat whatever appeals to you, calories matter more than anything else. Chemo can wreak havoc with your testbuds so if something tastes good to you, eat it, and don't won't worry about the pH of your body.

Having been through this ordeal, I implore you to believe that your best chance for surviving this is to go the conventional medicine route, and don't fuss with alternative medicines except of course keeping as active as you can, eating healthfully, keeping a good frame of mind (when you don't have chemo brain.) If there are folk treatments that make you feel better you can certainly use them provided you discuss them with your oncologist first, believe it or not, some of these herbs and such can conflict with your chemo and undermine its effectiveness.

Lastly, I want to say that chemo is not as bad as it once was, there are some very effective meds out there to help control the nausea/vomiting. Just don't be scared, you would be surprised how many of us there are that have gotten through this. Radiation is also not the grueling ordeal it once was either.

Surgery, though, is still surgery and that can be quite a trauma, but even that passes, and you will feel better every single day as you heal.

So in a nutshell, don't mess with the alternatives, follow your doctor's recommendations, and don't be scared. You have an excellent chance of being just fine.

Oh, one more piece of advice, get any needed dental work done ASAP. You cannot have any dental procedures done while undergoing chemo/radiotherapy because your immune system is compromised.

I agree, and along the same lines, there is an Italian doctor who is having good results treating cancer with baking soda (alkaline). You can google Dr. Simoncini.

Cancer treatment and chemo are a huge cash cow, which is why no "cure" will be found, and why alternative treatments are considered quackery.

I wish you well!

Simoncini lost his license and was convicted - Ellie

of manslaughter in patient death. He is a fraud and his "cures" have not been proven to do anything except keep patients away from effective therapies.

I totally agree with you - sm

Chemotherapy killed my father. I wish every day that I had been able to convince him to explore some alternative therapies.

Cancer and chemo are nothing but ATM machines for pharmaceutical companies.

Please, please do not believe anything - Ellie

you read on Natural News, Earth Clinic, Blue Heron News, Health Impact News, etc. This acid/alkaline model of nutrition is pseudoscience. Basic anatomy and physiology would tell you that "the body" has different pH levels in different locations. If curing cancer was as simple as eating one's vegetables, cancer would be cured.

I am a cancer survivor and she is right-- cancer can't survive in a body that is alkaline. Cancer loves glucose (acid) and if you don't have it, the cancer can't survive. For me, ketogenesis was the way to go. Cancer is a cash cow for the medical industry! We have the cure in nature! Where do you think those cancer drugs come from? For one example, tamoxifen is modeled from curcumin! They saw how well it worked in the labs and tried to replicate it so they could PATENT it and make money off of it! I encourage you to read this book (which was written by a chemist who worked on the production of tamoxifen as well as other drugs). It is a real eye opener!

Also, just FYI, most female cancers come from a deficiency of either progesterone or iodine. Look it up. This also goes for thyroid cancer and breast cancer. They used to put iodine in our bread to prevent goiters,(which also protected our breasts, thyroids, cervices) but now they put bromide in it instead, which is toxic to our bodies. That, in combination with all the over estrogenation we get from plastics, soy products, etc., is causing us to have too much estrogen in our bodies, which is making us ripe for cancer (especially with a high glucose diet), and we need progesterone to balance it out. Progesterone protects our thyroids, breasts, cervices, etc. from cancer developing. As we age, our production of progesterone drops and estrogen takes over. This causes menstrual problems (heavy bleeding, bad cramps), migraines, hypothyroidism, breast cysts, ovary cysts, low libido, being cold all the time, not being able to lose weight no matter what we do, etc. We then go to the doctor and what do they give us? More estrogen! Wake up people! Start taking your health in your own hands! Start questioning your doctors! Do your own research! Save your own lives!

You can momentarily change the pH of the inside of your mouth.
Agree! If it was possible to change pH - so easily

One more thing, progesterone also protects from osteoporosis! I encourage you to read this article for more information.

FYI, low progesterone also affects men with enlarged prostates, belly fat and breast cancer! http://andlos.blogspot.com/2010/09/progesterone-and-men-getting-rid-of.html

Followup On My Skin CancerJan 11, 2010
Well, I had my surgery on New Year's Eve, and came away with an 8 cm incision wrapping around my dorsal forearm.  I got the pathology back and it was a well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, 3 x 3.5 cm, all margins clear.  Right now looking at the incision it's hard to imagine that he's correct when he says it will eventually be just a very thin white line.  It looks like someone tried to cut my arm off.  I have to go back every three months for a recheck ...

Breast Cancer Awareness, Perhaps Going Too Far?Oct 07, 2013
In an e-mail from child's 1st teacher, there is a notation that October 15th is wear pink day in honor of the Komen foundation.   While I think it is wrong to over-shelter kids, I also have to wonder in this case if this would be going perhaps too far.  It is nothing I will raise a stink over, my son will not be wearing pink as he does not have anything pink but I am just kind of baffled by this. ...
