Two things maybe someone can shed some light on. I am

getting ready to move and I need someone that can tell me what brand soft seems to be a good value.  It seems so many people complain about sofas when you look at the reviews.  This can be a large sofa or even a sectional but dont want junk.  Also the Samsung 24 inch for my bedroom tv what is the difference between the LED and the Smart LED.  I just need it for my bedroom not to jump cartwheels.  Appreciate any input so I can get something decent with the way things seem to be made these days.

upholstered furniture that was on the higher end as far as quality of the frame and spring system and also the upholstery fabric. One brand I had years ago was Flexsteel. The sofa and loveseat I have now is by Lazy Boy, but not the reclining type. I have had them for at least 15 years. I'm thinking of having one or both reupholstered soon, as my cats have done a number on the arms. The frame and cushions are in top shape, and I have slipcovers on them now. As far as TVs, a Smart TV can be connected to the internet, I think by WiFi or directly, not sure on that. You could do some research. You'd probably only need a regular LED for your bedroom if you don't want connectivity.

Yes, smart TV connects to internet - sereneone

We have ours directly connected to gateway. It takes too long to download movies from places like Amazon. We used to use it to connect to Netflix too, but you can go through Comcast now. Make sure you get one that ability to update the browser though.

movies if you AREN'T directly connected to gateway. We have another smart TV that's on WiFi and it's okay with downloading things like 1/2 hour, hour long programming, or real-time streaming, not so much long movies though.
Well this is just for a small 24 inch bedroom tv. I dont - PAMT

TV and sofa - Me Again

I agree with the recommendation for Flexsteel or La-Z Boy, I had a La-Z Boy sofa that i replaced after 30 years. There are a lot of good name brands and as long as you don't have kids jumping up and down or abusing it in some way a sofa should last for years. My cat also used my old sofa as a scratching post and I put plastic wrap over her favorite spot. They hate that feeling under their paws and it cured the habit. As far as TV, you can do some online research. For your bedroom, it doesn't sound like you need a smart TV, they are expensive. There are a lot of good brands, any of the well known names will be okay, especially if it doesn't get heavy use. If you can go smaller than a 24 inch screen, which I would suggest for a bedroom, you can save some money. You didn't say if you had cable or wanted to stream, but for streaming over Wi-Fi (I don't have cable TV by choice) you can get a Roku box, Apple TV or the one that Amazon sells, they are all inexpensive alternatives to a Smart TV.

LCD vs. LED - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
LCD loses color and display (becomes yellowish) over years, obsolete now. Go for LED, High definition, less strain on eyes, bright colors and an average lifespan of 100,000 hours without any display loss.

Newly Released Emails Shed Light On State DeptAug 11, 2016
Washington (CNN) — Newly released emails from Hillary Clinton's tenure as secretary of state raise questions about the nature of the department's relationship with the Clinton Foundation. Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group, released 296 pages of emails from the Democratic presidential nominee, including 44 that Judicial Watch says were not previously handed over to the State Department by Clinton. The emails, many of which are heavily redacted, raise questions about t ...

Light Bulb BanDec 29, 2012
Don't forget to get your 75 watt incandescent light bulbs before January 1st, when they will be removed from the shelves. We lost 100 watt bulbs in 2012, and will lose 60 and 40 watt ones in 2014. The Fed claims the new corkscrew bulbs are "more energy efficient," but that's just another lie. There is little profit margin in the incandescent bulbs, and the corkscrews are made off-shore and cost us, the consumer" a fortune. ...

Light SensitivityDec 29, 2014
I have light sensitivity that is driving me nuts.  I consider it to be severe because even inside my house if the curtains are open, even if the sun is not shining in (like on a rainy day) I am sitting here squinting.  Sometimes my eyes are almost closed and I can just look out a little cos the light hurts my eyes and they ache.  I've tried wearing sunglasses, but they don't help.  My eyes still ache, only everything is a little darker, but I still squint.  I ...

HELP - Extreme Light SensitivyJan 18, 2012
I need to find a remedy and fast.  I've got too much work to deal with this.  I have such extreme light sensitivity.  I'm typing with both eyes squinted almost shut.  One iI hold closed the other one all I'm seeing is a little bit.  The light is so bad.  What I'm typing looks blurry so I type then shut my eyes a few seconds open and try and read a sentence at a time.  This is no way going to work.  I put a warm compress on my eyes every ...

Menopause - Please Tell Me There Is Light At The End Of The TunnelMay 19, 2010

When Your Low-fuel Light Comes, How Many More Miles Before Your Run Out Of Gas?Oct 16, 2014
I have a 2003 Chevy Cavalier.  It doesn't have an actual "low-fuel light."  It has a light that says "check gauges" when the gas gauge hits E.  Normally, I would have filled up before now, but I'm broke and payday is tomorrow.  So I really I just have to make it until tomorrow morning.  I work in the office and have to drive about 40 miles to get back home.  The light came on this morning on my way to work and I had 15 miles left of my commute.  So to ...

First Light Snow Of The Year - That's StickingNov 25, 2012
I like the way the grayish sky contrasts with the white of the snow, and the pine trees.  Just read a strange poem by Emily Dickinson about a pine tree, I'm sharing the whole thing here.  Love the line, "a sea with a stem."  I had to stop and look out the window at a pine, when I read this line.  Yep, that's right - a sea with a stem. Shedding Light On Obama's "plan"Nov 28, 2012
Never thought of this in the long term, but I can see the strategy. Anything to keep in power: "Forget that any tax increase is bad economic policy (especially in this economy), it's also a trap. The damage the passing of this tax increase would do to Republicans with their base is the primary motivation behind what Obama and the media are up to. Raising tax rates would almost certainly suppress Republican turnout in the 2014 midterms. As a result, Democrats would make gains and possibl ...

One Of These Things Is Not Like The OtherOct 04, 2016
The dedicated Trumpettes are rationalizing Trump's tax evasion by saying Clinton used the same loophole to avoid paying tax. In fact, I have used the same loophole when I was an independent contractor. Now here is why it is not the same. Trumps tax loss claimed is over 1 THOUSAND 3 HUNDRED TIMES (1300 times) Clinton's tax loss. In other words, Clinton claimed 0.07% of Trumps loss. Trump paid NO taxes and probably did not for 18 years. In contrast the Clinton's pai ...

How The Dems Do ThingsSep 06, 2012

Seeing Things On TV That I Am Thinking What?Jan 08, 2013
I saw 3 different things this morning that I am puzzled. First, people having baby ultrasounds in their homes inviting all the family for an ultrasound party to let them be the first (along with the couple) to view the baby. People doing the ultrasounds do tell the gender of the baby and that again is not 100% sure each time, even for people who routinely do ultrasound in medical settings. The people doing not medical, say no diagnosis of any kind made but as we all know not every pregnancy is a ...
