Girl Scout cookies

Does anyone know when these are coming or am I too late? I thought I read somewhere around this time they are going to be out. We have girl scouts that sell at the entrance to our grocery store, but I only go out once or twice a month grocery shopping so don't know if I've missed them.

Growing up we went door to door selling. I wish they would do that here so I would never miss. I also miss girl scout calendars and don't know if they even have them anymore.

Maybe now that I have a niece (she's only 4 years old though) when she goes into scouting I will buy from her, but then my sister will have to send them across country LOL

Just wondered if anyone knew about the cookies.

I go to the stores seemingly every day of the week and have not seen them out yet. Also, the radio station I listen to promotes a "buy a box for the troops" thing, and I have not heard them talking about it. My favorite lemon cookies usually sell out quickly, so I try to get them early. If I hear of anything, I will let you know.

In fact, Dreyers ice cream makes a Girl Scout samoa cookie ice cream. Ate the whole darn gallon in 2 sittings. LOL

Next favorite is the lemon cream, then the shortbread (love them with tea), then peanut butter and mint.

When my sister and I were in girl scouts (my mom was our troop leader) we sold so many boxes of cookies that half our living room was filled every year with boxes that needed to be delivered. Think there were about 200 or so cases of cookies. Wow! Talk about some great memories.

My daughter's troop just started selling them this past Saturday. Their sale goes until the middle of February and then they have another stint of selling them until some time in March.

I am sure they have not been out yet. I think it's late February or somewhere close. We always have them at our mall. They are so good. I love the lemon! Not sure if they still sell that one. Enjoy them when they come out!

so you have plenty of time. Though it is possible each region has different time frames. Our sale began Jan 14 and ends April 3. We are not doing any booth sales at Wal-mart until March 4 and 12 here as the cookies don't come in until March 2 and so we won't have any actually on hand until then.

I use a bag mix, which turns out fine. Sometimes they stay fluffed up, other times not. I've tried refrigerating the dough and using it cold. Tried making big cookies. I would like to get a friend's 6-year-old daughter something, but their house is small, and the grandparents tend to give quite a bit. Any ideas that will not cause more clutter?
