GUESS WHO CAME HOME!!

Posted: Apr 9, 2011

Just wanted to let all of you know we brought my little Tiny home.  We picked her up about 11:00 a.m.  Saturday.   I can honestly say when she was brought into the room where we were waiting it was one of the most touching things I have ever seen.

The young assistant told us he would get her, and he asked us to have a seat.  When the door opened a few minutes later he was holding her in his arms.  It was not hard to see she has been through quite a bit.  She looked at us, and then suddenly got a look of surprise.  I said, "There's my Little Tiny."  She was literally overcome with emotion and actually cried.  It wasn't a whiny sound, but more like she was crying.  The young man put her on my lap and I held her close.  Every time she turned to look at me she began crying again.  That went on for a several minutes.

The vet came in and we talked quite a long time.  She told me when Tiny arrived at the hospital her condition was very, very bad.  She said she was actually in shock, and that my stepfather got her there in time, but that she would not have survived much longer.  We talked about her diet, and my stepfather bought a prescription diet from the hospital that will be good for her.   I asked if I could cook white meat chicken for her some days and give her plain cooked carrots and cottage cheese to give her variety.  She said that would be fine, but to get a very low fat cottage cheese because of the pancreatitis.  I bought fat free cottage cheese for her today.  We talked at length about Cushing's as well.

I feel like I have been given a wonderful gift.  I want to thank all of you who cared, and who gave me support and help through a very bad time.  We came dangerously close to losing her.  She is still on two different antibiotics.  I should receive the NuVet Plus supplements I ordered in a few days.  Tiny's back legs are a bit weak, and she needs to regain some strength, but she is glad to be home.   Each and every person we saw at the hospital today commented on how cute Tiny is.  To me she was more beautiful than ever.

I'm thrilled for you! It's been a very long week. I know how scared and sick she was, and alone with strangers, but she's back and will be better than ever when she gets her strength back.

Cottage cheese will be great for her - maybe the kind with pineapple! I just cooked a pot of chicken breasts for mine this afternoon - boiled it and then used the broth for Minute Rice - it's easier for them to digest than brown rice or regular rice.

'Course you'll have to share the gourmet delicacies with Morry!

Keep us posted on how the NuVet works. Should be here soon.

I feel good about how she's doing, and I know how relieved you and your SF must be. Bless her little doggy heart!

I'll still light my special brown candle for her Monday night. Gotta make sure her name's added.

Hooray for Tiny!! - Ang

You go, little Tiny girl!! Welcome home - I know mom is spoiling you rotten. You deserve it. Rest well.

You can't mean it! - Christine

Spoiled? Our Tiny? LOL! He should put her name on the house because she rules it! Morry, too. When my stepfather got Morry up the other day in the morning (uncovered her) she grabbed his T-shirt and pulled it into the cage!

Yesterday my sister was talking about Tiny, saying she was glad she is home. Then she said we should put her in another room when we are all up there eating on Sunday evening because Tiny cries for food. I told her it was the Cushing's. She said, "Well, I know, but you HAVE TO ADMIT . . . She is SPOILED ROTTEN!" (This from a woman who sings opera to her guinea pigs!!)LOL!

All the little "tiny" prayers helped... - alias

I am so happy she is doing better! I am glad you and your SF are doing better too. Still praying for all of you! :-)

That's the best news ever, Christine! - Sunshine State MT

I have been following your post about Tiny and am so GLAD she is back home with her family and Mory. I prayed for that little girl. I hate to hear when animals are hurting; it breaks my heart. I felt so sad when you said you went to her house when she wasn't there and you saw her toys.

How is she doing since she is back home and how are her back legs doing?

Tell her she needs to get well because she needs to greet those Trick-or-Treaters this year (that was such a cute story).

Give her a HUGE hug for me!

Welcome home Tiny!

You Remembered! - Christine

I can't believe you remember the story I told about Tiny and Morry and the Trick-or-Treaters! That was so funny, and when Morry told the little girls to "Go Outside!" It was the best.

I broke down at the house last week when I saw her toys scattered around on the porch and the TV room. Before we left to pick her up on Saturday I gathered them all up and washed them in very hot, soapy water for her.

Thank you so much for mentioning the "Halloween Story!" How very nice of you.

Thank you for praying for our little one. She still has the increased thirst, the urinating on the kitchen floor, and begging for food that goes with Cushing's. I got the supplements I ordered today, and I am taking them up to the house so she can get started on them tomorrow. Hopefully they will help to relieve these symptoms.

I don't know the story, but this made me cry. Good news. - Dog lady

I'll try to find the story.

I am so glad you got to bring Tiny home. I have been following her story and praying for her as well.

To you and EVERYONE! - Christine

I am very touched that so many have expressed their concern for Tiny and all of us. I am convinced all of our prayers brought her home to us.

I remember last fall when I was upset and anxious because I was going up to help my stepfather get Morry out of her cage to have her nails trimmed. I shared my grief in recalling the last time I helped him my mother lay in the TV room in a hospital bed dying. Going to the house last year brought those terrible feelings back to me. I posted that morning stating I was very anxious and even afraid to go to the house. So many cared and supported me that day. Now you have been there for me again. We send our heartfelt thanks and love to you all!

Did you see her name? - Shipwrecked

Tiny's name is on the Special Needs list. Check it out on Petloss.com. I lit a candle for her. Did the NuVet come yet?
I saw it! - Christine

I just saw Tiny's name on the list. What a wonderful thing to do. That brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for doing that for her. She still has significant problems, and she will her start the NuVet today. I received it yesterday. I saw it is backed by the American Kennel Club and is used by top breeders. My friend uses herbal drops for her dog with Cushing's, and she said her dog was in remission for two years. I'll let you know some weeks from now if we see improvement!

only to find none at all on the shelves.  "WTF?" I'm thinking.  Maybe I had somehow ended up in the Twilight Zone. At the 6th store I went to, I asked what the deal was with Excedrin.  Where was it? Nobody knew or could give me an answer.  So I come home and type "Excedrin" into Google, and was shocked to learn that it's been recalled! (Along with 2 other, can't-do-without staples, No-Doz and Gas-X). Apparently it was recalled a month ago (something about t ...

News in from Ohio, the home state of the Boehner.  Apparently the republ guvinator, the self-same fella whose first act in office was ramming through a union busting law (which was later overwhelmingly swatted down by the voters) decided he was going to give his State O' The State address in a small town (302 miles round trip) instead of the state capitol.  He claims it will add no cost.  Guess he doesnt consider satellite equipment and the cost and time of all the LEGISLATOR ...

Re. Nursing Home Patient(s)Oct 15, 2009
Several family members while in nursing homes have been approached by religious "Zealouts" trying to push the "right faith" by staff or so-called "visitors" on them. I am so sick of it! My Dad was presented with a Bible of different faith at 81 and dying. Now another member at 85 in failure was presented with 3 different "faiths" by the "staff" and I am enraged. Being asked questions by 85-YO as to what is "B'hai" and what is "Spiritualism." I am so sick of it. Keep your Bible(s) off their ...

It was a difficult decision, but I decided to avoid worrying about whether or not she could or would escape any fence I would build and then there's the worrying she may bite someone else and have to be put down.  Anyway, within four hours of my ad appearing in the local paper, I had met a nice couple who live on 20 acres and have another boxer and they were looking for a playmate.  I took my baby to their house so I could check it out and everything looked great.
